I've said it a number of times : when scientists say that if things were different they'd be different I agree with them. The problem is we don't know if there's any way for them to be different or if there is, how likely it is that it would be different enough to matter. And since you can't show anything which says differently, it all boils down to making up stuff about something we don't understand. That's no way to convince people that your god(s) are real.

Life has survived quite a few near total extinction events..some of those caused by objects hitting the planet...I don't see that as being fine tuned...
If the Universe and our neighborhood was fine tuned,it would have been smooth sailing,without those collisions.

Which only goes to show that when these people say such things, they mean something very very different from what you are claiming in this thread.

It's an idea I find convincing: all the Constants sitting on Olympus playing chess and fine tuning their lyres. It would explain a lot.
