The Fiction Proposal

Has anyone out there written a proposal for a fiction novel?

I haven't, but I thought I'd post anyway to ask what genre you write. So, what genre do you write?

I have sort of dabbled in a variety of genres. The two books I have ready are Inspirational and are a part of a series. (actually the first book in the series is more romance than anything. ) I've written horror, suspsense, and supernatural thrillers.

So what's your genre of choice?

Cool. The Inspirational section of the library is kind of lacking.

I write Christian High Fantasy. I'm about halfway through the first full-length novel in a series of six.

The only person I know of on here that might have written a fiction proposal is Dragonflame. I know she's talked with a literary agent.

My goal is to have the proposal finished by next week so I get get it sent off. I know that sounds ambitious, but it's spring break, I can handle it!

Well, you said elsewhere that you wrote a novel in a week, what's to stop you from writing a little proposal?

This is supposed to be a LOT harder than any ol' novel!

Why should a proposal be harder than a novel?

I don't know. That's just what they say!

I don't think it's going to be too, too hard. Just more thinking than anything, I guess.

True. I'm just thankful I won't have to do that, when I finish my book. I've already got a book deal...with...myself. I'm going to start a Christian Fantasy Publishing company, called Blanchweald Press, with my book. I have high hopes.

I wrote one for an RP. It wasn't that hard at all, though. Atleast... I don't THINK it was... of course, it may not have been that good, either. If you guys want to see it and tell me so, I'll find it, but I only spent an hour or so working on this one.

I'm taking a stab at the whole publisher thing. If it doesn't pan out, I'm publishing the book myself.

I'm taking a stab at the whole publisher thing. If it doesn't pan out, I'm publishing the book myself.

That's funny. I'm doing it vice-versa. I'm going to try and start my press company, and if that don't work out (meaning if within like four years or so, I don't have anything going for me) I'm going to try and get a subsidiary deal with a bigger publisher, if that don't work out, I'll just ship the dumb thing to a trade publisher.

OK. It's done. I'm getting things printed off this afternoon so I can send the proposal out to editors/publishers tomorrow. Keep my little book in your prayers!!!!!
