Universalism has really become the heresy du jour sadly. Even Dr. David Bentley Hart, who I admire for his brilliant takedown of Richard Dawkins, The Atheist Delusion, is now writing Universalist nonsense.
God is not only the Creator of all mankind, He is...
GOD THE FATHER OF MEN
God is the Father of all men. “Have we not all one Father? Hath not one God created us?” (Mal. 2:10).
A kind Father will not punish his children but for their good. God is evidently called the Father of all men in the Scriptures, and this is not an unmeaning name; he has the disposition and principles of a Father. He loves with a Father’s love; he watches with a Father’s care; he reproves with a Father’s tenderness; he punishes with a Father’s design.
God is the Father of all men; and, therefore, he cannot make mankind endlessly miserable. -Thomas Whittemore-
We are all on different stages of a journey whose beginning & ending is ABBA. The Christ did send some empty away, namely the rich, so full of themselves they would be left to another day.
Poverty of spirit must be the foundation for coming to the Lord Jesus Christ. It is in that place His living water flows to the thirsty broken wrecks of sin & despair.
Dear lady, may He fill us with a hunger that can only be filled in Him, the Master of zao life.
"He has filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away with empty hands."
God is Lord & owner of men.
All men, by right, belong to God.
“Behold, all souls are mine,” says the Lord.
“As the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine.” (Ezek. 18:4).
God will not give up what belongs to him, to the dominion of sin and Satan forever.
All men are God’s by creation; he made them all.
They are his by preservation; he sustains them all.
They were his at first, and they always have remained in his care.
“The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dell therein.” That God, who says to men, “If any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith and is worse than an infidel,” can never abandon his own creatures.
He will ever exercise a gracious care over them. -Thomas Whittemore-
Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:
“Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
In the day of trial in the wilderness,
Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me,
And saw My works forty years.
Therefore I was angry with that generation,
And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart,
And they have not known My ways.’
So I swore in My wrath,
‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”
Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said:
“Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
(Hebrews 3:7-15, NKJV)
All mankind is committed to Christ's care
God has given all things to Christ, as the moral Ruler of the world.
“Ask of me, and I will give You the heathen for Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Your possession.” (Psalms 2:8)
“The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.” (John 3:35)
“All things,” = all intelligent beings.
God gave all beings to Christ that he might save them.
“You have given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as You hast given him.” (John 17:2)
This plainly evinces, that it was God’s design, in giving Christ dominion over all flesh, that they should all enjoy eternal life.
-Thomas Whittemore-
Hebrews 3:10-11
(10) That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, 'Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.'
(11) So I declared on oath in my anger, 'They shall never enter my rest.'"[Ps 95:9-11]
Ps 95:10-11
(10) For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, 'They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways.'
(11) So I declared on oath in my anger, 'They shall never enter my rest.'"
Hebrews 4:3
(3) Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, "So I declared on oath in my anger, 'They shall never enter my rest.'" And yet his works have been finished since the creation of the world
Hebrews 4:10-11
(10) for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.
(11) Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.
One of Christ's favorite sayings = "have you not read".
Another favorite word of the Christ =
"This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand."
Our word for today =
Suniemi
"There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God."
But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
(Luke 11:28, NKJV)
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
(James 1:22-25, NKJV)
Dear Lily: there is no question our Father will have a people whose eyes have been opened, and ears unstopped by the mighty working of ephathatha.
Those individuals have been touched by the Glorious One and will continue in the full manifestation of those who follow the Lamb withersoever He goeth!
And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying:
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the Lord;
Make His paths straight.
Every valley shall be filled
And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough ways smooth;
And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’ ”
Then he said to the multitudes that came out to be baptized by him, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’
For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”
(Luke 3:3-9, NKJV)
(also “the salvation of God” is a translation of the name of Jesus so that really is twofold seeing with this comparison)
The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
“Prepare the way of the Lord;
Make straight in the desert
A highway for our God.
Every valley shall be exalted
And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough places smooth;
The glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
And all flesh shall see it together;
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
(Isaiah 40:3-5, NKJV)
