  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Total Spiritual Inability is unbiblical because unregenerates have the ability to seek God and receive the gospel, and to be enlightened by the gospel. Thus the biblical view is that the Fall resulted in limited spiritual ability.

This biblical position has been demonstrated independently with four passages of scripture. First we have God hardening fallen men to prevent them from coming to Christ. Next we have the parable of the measures, where a person's limited spiritual ability is removed. Then we have the kind of soil that receives the gospel with joy. And finally, we have those enlightened but not saved in the Hebrews 6:4-6 passage. Any one of these passages demonstrates that "total Spiritual Inability" is unbiblical, but taken together the evidence is overwhelming

The Fall
Adam: "No problem.
I fall,... I get up,... no problem!"

:D

Then God said,
"Adam, you fell. You can't get up.
Big Problem for you."

Mankind says I have fallen and can't get up.
Jesus says Do you believe I can get you up?
Those that say yes and mean it from the heart receive mercy.
Those that say no receive no mercy.
Those that say yes, but do not mean it from the heart receive no mercy.

It does not depend upon the man that wills but upon God who has mercy upon whom He has mercy.
