*[[Act 23:6]] RNKJV* But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.
Lived is not a past tense....If some would testifie they would say I've lived as a disciple od christ...
Not a past tense a description of how he has lived.
I am is presant tense.
You are not Messianic if you don't associate yourself with the Messianics. You can't be a Messianic Jew if you are not Jewish.
I understand. I guess I don't consider all distinctions divisive. I see it as not being able to fellowship with everyone, and so I have to choose.Probably said that badly...I understand what your saying....but I still prefer no dividing line. There are messianics I consider as my brothers and sisters...and pentacostles...and babtist...and charismatics....ect.
You are not Messianic if you don't associate yourself with the Messianics. You can't be a Messianic Jew if you are not Jewish.
Yet there are gentiles in the MJ movement. Which by the way, why isn't it called Messianic Christianity?
Anyway, I am enjoying the feast thread, glad you started it, thanks, frog.
sooooooo....the feasts, were abolished, and that is that. Since God abolished them, as he did, who is man to resurrect the feasts? If God wanted us to keep them, the text would show, but what it does show, is not to keep em.
*[[Phi 3:5-7]] RNKJV* Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
Concerning zeal, persecuting the assembly; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for the Messiah
In context Paul is dealing with those who where teaching the gentiles they must become proselytes....so he is saying if being Jews qualifies them to teach you then I am more qualified
Was he no longer circumsised?...was he no longer an Israelite...a hebrew....from the tribe of Benjamin....a hebrew....a pharisee
Redundancy...and most feel when christians left Judaism and took on pagan traditions they made a new religion around 300a.d.
the new will all have the same season.. and one time zone Jerusalem time.....the "fall" feasts .. creates a seasonal dilemma ...speaking in humor..
where i am... its Spring
you left out the poop verse.
well sure he was of that tribe, yes he was still a hebrew, yes he was circumcised, he can't change that! Well, actually that they can change, the snipping part.
red above, counted loss, that means he lost it, it is gone.
the SuKKah is speaking about a different covering ...... start studying and praying alot more dude .. because you don't have clue what you are talking about.so millions of little sheds scattered about?
No he counted the recognition that false teachers were seeking as dung.....the power over the body they were after as dung....that he would rather establish christ in them than Lord some ridiculas credintials over there head.
*[[Gal 4:12]] RNKJV* Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.
Again context of message they can not be justified by the law....as Paul say he can not be justified by it either...despite his listed credentials

edited to say ..
2Co 10:5
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
1Co 15:34
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
Col 1:10
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
