According to the bible the end of mankind happens when Jesus comes back (1st resurrection of the saved). 1,000 years later the 2nd resurrection happens and then God destroys everything by fire (everything satan, his minions, all the lost and the entire earth. Then He makes everything new and we are with Him in a sinless world for eternity.

Oh yes ... it's definitely going to happen .... we just don't know when. There are a couple more prophesies that have to happen first ... a global financial collapse of some sort being one.

There's a time when the old world passes away, particularly our world that is opposed to God. The tribulation is a terrible mess but following in the wake Christ returns and for a thousand years is essentially paradise. At the end of the thousand years the devil is released from some kind of an abyss he had been held in and the nations align themselves against Jerusalem. At that point the whole thing is shut down, the books are open and there is a final judgment known as the Great White Throne. Then there is a new heavens and new earth, Peter even describes the elements burning with a fervent heat.

Yes, there is an end to the world, we just have no idea when that will be. I get the impression this happens suddenly and the Antichrist will have everyone saying peace and security, then sudden destruction. Persecution will be unprecedented and the judgments that come upon the earth, particularly the trumpets and vials of wrath are unparalleled. But it's necessary to wrestle the powers and principalities from the clutches of Satan.

One day it will all be made new, renewed, but it won't end. Many Christians almost fear the end times when they should not be feared. The word often used for "end" in Greek means "goal" or "destination" (telos). This, all that is coming, should be something we are looking forward... after all, whether we die before his return or are alive to see it, we will be with Messiah in perfected bodies forever. God wins... the story has already been written and only needs to be lived out.
