Does anyone know exactly how many years man has been on earth?
<adam and eve<<<<<<to>>>>>>2004> exactly how many years or as many as possible according to the bible?
Well, that depends on who you ask. Young earth creationists believe man has been here between 20,000-6,000 years. Old earth creationists believe man has been here probably the same length of time, just that the earth is much older. Theistic evolutionists believe that man has been here...well, that depends on what you consider man. If you mean homo sapiens sapiens then probably < 50,000 years and Adam and Eve weren't real people but rather a myth or allegory used to teach a spiritual lesson.

Only God knows exactly; men believe different things.
I am among those that believe the earth and the people on it are about 6000 years old.

You hope he comes back and destroys this world, with you, your family, and children in it? Try not to hope too hard, I've got things to do :)

Ussher's date of creation: 4004 BC.

so,
4004 plus
2004
----
6008 years ago.

i would say it's give or take 5 years or so.

.... in which case, the 6000 years would have finished 8 years ago, the tribulation would have finished a year ago, and we're in the millenial reign... based on the timeline your other post linked to.

if you go for millenial stuff. ;)

I recommend; A.E. Ware 'The restored Vision' who places the first day of creation as 4th March of 4075 BC. Now there are many out there who delve into this stuff, but this guy is the best I have found yet, only because practically every other calcutlation he has made is bang on, and he's proved it to! Have a read
He places the birth of our Lord at Friday 29th October 1 BC, it also worth mentioning the various calander in operation in scripture, so how are you counting your years?
Jewish years have 354 days, Roman have 365, then there are bible years, civil years , lunar years, redemption years, divine years.
The real question is what is God waiting for when time has already run out?

4004BC is the year based on the lineage in the Bible. Some believe that Lucifer reigned on earth with his angels before Lucifer rebelled. The rebellion caused God to destroy the earth and make it null and void (Gen 1:2) after He created it (Gen 1:1). This is PURE conjecture, though and there is no Scriptural basis for this idea, which is called Pre-adamite man. While, I believe the Gap Theory is a possible way to interpret the Creation, I do not know if I believe in Pre-adamite man, or not. I think it is an interesting theory, though.
