Belief in Hell demonstrably came before Hell. A simple study of the language used in the bible and how translations and ideas have changed over time shows that Hell is a fairly new invention.Which came first, in your opinion? Heaven and Hell ... or the belief in Heaven and Hell?
I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one.Belief in Hell demonstrably came before Hell.
That has nothing to do with my post.Something doesn’t need to be proven to be a fact. Was the world not a sphere before it was proven to be?
Quoting scripture to an atheist? How pointless.Philippians 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
Heaven and hell are not real, neither exist.Which came first, in your opinion? Heaven and Hell ... or the belief in Heaven and Hell?
Either you didn't read or you didn't understand my post. Either way, Jesus was way late to the party.I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one.
And in fact, Jesus spoke more on Hell than anyone else in the Bible.
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.Quoting scripture to an atheist? How pointless.
Moses wrote about it too.Either you didn't read or you didn't understand my post. Either way, Jesus was way late to the party.
You just cant learn, can you?Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
So Adam showed up in 4004 BC as the first modern man on Earth?Based on these two Biblical observations, the earth could very well be extremely old.
Yes.You just can learn, can you?
Then you must ask yourself do you believe what scientists claim to be truth or do you believe the word of God?
Something doesn’t need to be proven to be a fact. Was the world not a sphere before it was proven to be?
That's the point.A good thing.. imagine! No facts anywhere,
none waiting to be discovered even.
Except maybe a few white cliffs, meandering streams, and meandering rivers. There is zero physical evidence of a
Flood,
Give me one that I can't explain.Estrid said:... but an abundance of evidence that demonstrates that there was never a world wide flood.

Science has nothing to do with truth as you define truth. Science is only interested in the evidence. The majority of Cristian's have no problem believing in God and affirming scientific evidence. That said, I do understand that some Christians interpret the bible to be the literal word of God but the majority of Christians have a much more nuanced belief in the bible. Then you must ask yourself do you believe what scientists claim to be truth or do you believe the word of God?
I think a lot of folks forget the bible is not a science book. It did not impart 24th century knowledge on ancient people. It's not about that. I like to ask YEC's how much time passed between the beginning of the first day, Genesis 1:3, and what comes before it.I'll be posting lines of evidence against a young earth. The first I don't think anyone has noticed before, the long lived Greenland Shark. It reaches maturity at a staggering 150 years of age and has a gestation period of at least 8 years. If more than 38 generations existed, the Earth could not be 6,000 years old. Based on the population, more than 38 generations is all but guaranteed.
