Saint Paul, writing 2 Cor about 57 AD, says that "14 years earlier" a prominent Christian experienced profound visions

that would have been about 43 AD, about the time the Church was persecuted (Acts 12), St James beheaded, St Peter imprisoned and only miraculously escaped, and (according to Tradition) Mary was assumed into heaven.

Perhaps much of Revelation, to Saint John, was revealed at that time, and Saint John was the man whose acquaintance and visions St Paul was boasting about ??

Who is 'the great red dragon' of Revelation 12 according to the Bible, the scripture, and what do the verses mean according to the same?

Once we know this, we can identify other symbols more easily in the following chapters.

The Bible answer I received from the Bible, is two fold:

[1] satan (and thus he through)

[2] Pagan Rome.

The dragon represents Satan, here with reference to the work which he does through the Antichrist's Church. There he shows his craft, and his seven heads and 10 horns, kings and rulers and heretical teachers in the Church, aid him in his plan to destroy Jesus and his Christians. For with every new believer Jesus' born, and so Satan plans to devour Jesus in His Church by turning the Christians away from him, by corrupting the Church.

Interesting.
This would correlate with the Muratorian Fragment which states that Paul was following the rule previously set By John in writing to 7 Churches.
"...Paul, following the rule of his predecessor John, writes to no more than seven churches by name."

This, of course, requires that Paul had to have known of John's message to the seven Churches before his death.

National Sunday Law to Global Sunday Law. Feel free to follow that here - Sunday Law News - Mark of the Beast Update for 2018 - 2019

However, that is not the subject of this thread.

Here's a fun old thread about that:
Is Saturday Worship the Mark of the Beast?

Wm. Miller was incorrect about the event (2nd Advent) based upon a misunderstanding of the word 'sanctuary' and 'cleansed' (Dan. 8:14),

So was He put to Death for his Crime?
For scripture calls Him a False prophet not to be believed or trusted on ANYTHING, and is worthy of a Death sentence. (Deuteronomy 18:20-22)

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

3 different persons.

I said .... the use of the word beast in PROPHESY (when the word beast is used in prophesy).

Read Daniel Chapter 7 about "beasts" - they are relating to kingdoms.

wow, that could be Apocalyptically critical to find out!

Seems like some of Revelation (Revelation 13:18, "666") was written on Patmos during the persecution of emperor Nero, the 6th Caesar of Rome, in about 66 AD, when John was exiled there upon miraculously surviving being boiled in oil in the Colosseum.

But perhaps some other parts were written 20-25 years earlier ?? That could have an enormous impact on Apocalyptic interpretations!
