I don't really google roadkill. LOL

I was in bed thinking about what you believe, and I think my problem is I know what you believe about law, but not about sin. Maybe that clue will come out in one of your posts to Dan or the lionhead guy.
I don't think it will. We have had countless discussions. It's all been mentioned many, many times.
But I like you, I enjoy chatting to you. So any discussion, apart from Christian doctrine is fine with me. I can be flexible. Just pick a topic that interests you

Point being; It is unbelief in Gods Word. Same as from the beginning of mankind, regardless of what the Word of God is called.

This one you would have to explain, I'm not seeing what you are. John 5:39 Jesus said...search the scriptures; for in them you think you have found eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

They scriptures don't save us, they testify that He is the one. They point us to Jesus. He is the way, the truth, the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (Christ).

You may want to join the discussion in this thread maybe...?

Does God Accept Imperfect Obedience?

Peace,

God Bless!
To be completely honest with you. ONLY on the internet have I seen people state they never commit sin. They wouldn't get far in the real world coming out with such fanciful claims! And it becomes tiring after a while. But the Internet gives them an outlet to spout their nonsense.
They live in a fantasy world, believing they are qualified to teach others because they can reel off the letter of scripture pat.
Jesus welcomed sinners, but the religious who reeled off the letter, making out they faultlessly kept it when they didn't, received Jesus harshest words.
And if I am completely honest. Those who state Christians cannot/ do not commit any sin, would, if they lived in Jesus day have stood in line to offer to hammer the nails into Jesus hands and feet when he was crucified.

As a Baptist minister of fifty years said:

If we followed after the Holy Spirit every minute of our lives we would never commit sin. The reality of which escapes us all.
Only those living in gaga land cannot see the reality.

I believe God is unsearchable, He is perfect, God alone is good. I take sin very seriously, I could never attain to His perfection. The Bible does say, be perfect like He is perfect. God understands as men we could never achieve this, He sent His Son. Through Christ and His passion, His righteousness is placed upon us. In faith we hold dearly to this truth. We love Him, we love the brotherhood...God forbid that we do sin, when we do we bring it to Jesus. He is faithful to forgive us.

Sin condemns us, the wages for sin is death. Little sins, big sins it doesn't matter, it's wages are death. The only sins that are not unto death are the sins we have been forgiven. Thsee are the sins that God does not impute to us. This is why blessed is the man whom the Lord does not impute sin.

As Christians we rest in Christ, He is our Sabbath rest. He has done all for us, our faith is in His work not our own.

The command is basically "always do and be good", and anything short of that, and you've sinned... And, We've all sinned and do continue to, and in, sin that falls short of that, in my opinion...

Everything else and any other truth than that is a false gospel and a lie...

God Bless!

Christ was basically saying "If" (you want to be perfect, or measure up or meet) this on your own (terms and standards) (the Old Covenant, before the cross) Anyways, if you want to measure up to this (teaching, standard, whatever) "if" you want to meet up to perfection, you must achieve and measure up to perfection...

It is totally, "not the point" (measuring up to perfection), but is a side issue, and a trap Jesus laid for all his self-righteous, enemies, that are like the Devil...

Their is a correct view of perfection that is not a trap, but other incorrect ones, are...

God Bless!

Absolutely, God is saying if you want to be perfect, you can have no flaws. Just as God has no flaws, He alone is perfect. As men, we know so little. God is above our understanding, only pride can lead a person to believe he is perfect like God is perfect.

We humble ourselves before a Holy God!

That correct view is we cannot do it, but that is why he does and did for us, so that we could get in by professing and acknowledging him before God in the judgment, not so we can "sin all we want" either, but so that he could take all our "want to sin" from us by going through a process of growth with him with us, in our lives... (sanctification)...

God Bless!

If a man thinks he understands God he is deceiving himself. He needs to take to heart the last chapters of Job.
We can understand Christ, and through him, understand God...

But, that will not complete you completely, the sin issue remains, in your way, probably till we "get there", which can limit understanding (the sin issue)...

God Bless!

I guess I'm saying it is possible to understand God, if he allows, or gives you that revelation and still fall way short of being "like him"...

And maybe that is the understanding God wants you to arrive at, at the start... He can work with that kind of clay and cshape and mold that kind of clay into something very good, by the time he is done...

God Bless!

It is a physically living man who submits unto the Lord in Faithfulness, who is forgiven.
A physically dead man knows nothing, thus can not submit unto the Lord in Faithfulness, or become forgiven.

God Bless,

Do you believe it is possible for certain believers to see the error of their ways?
I know David later repented of his sins of adultery and murder.
Granted, I do realize there are clouds out there without water; But I cannot possiblity know with 100% certainty that they are these clouds. I have to extend the olive branch in love as long as I can; Until God says for me to move on (if they are not getting it).

You are right Jason, I can see it. The righteous have no need of a saviour.

As for me, I'm a sinner in desperate need of a saviour.

Me too, but I wonder and flirt with/about impossible possibilities, like becoming sinlessly perfect, without sinning, and still having need of a savior...?

@Jason0047, if one could be perfect, they would still have to have to have need of a savior, but, being perfect, how can that be, in your view...?

God Bless!

Continued belief in Jesus and His death and resurrection is also necessary for salvation.
Also, Jesus does the good work within our lives in the Sanctification process.
So any overcoming sin is the result of Jesus.
All credit goes to Him.
Jesus saves both in Justification and Sanctification.
So not sure why you would think that.

You said:

One cannot be perfect without God or Christ.
The need for God or Christ still exists even while one is perfect because one realizes that they did not get their on their own and they also realize they still need to believe and trust in Him for salvation. To be perfect would be to worship God and Christ as He desires from us. It would be loving God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength; And loving your neighbor. So I am not sure why you would think otherwise.

May God bless you, too.
