Do you not understand, your deeds, your thoughts, your words are the works of the flesh.
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. Romans 8:5
Those who live according to the Spirit, are led by the Spirit of God within them, in which their thoughts, words, and deeds, come from a renewed mind, which springs forth from the mind of Christ.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2
Those who have put forth the effort to renew their minds, have the ability to prove, discern, and know what the will of God is, that they may think, speak, and do what God's will is: Righteousness.
Practicing righteousness.
Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 1 John 3:7
Christians who never apply themselves to understanding, and study to show themselves approved to God, will be deceived, because they never diligently put forth the effort to seek God, or to renew their minds, or to: add to their faith... to love the truth.
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
2 Peter 1:5-9
- he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness,
