This was not a scary movie.



No, it's almost like Hollywood was trying to sell popcorn to those foolish enough to think this might be a worthwhile remake of a classic film.



Light is a many-hued metaphor.

Alas, if that were only true.

Perhaps you are unaware, but the Brightness of the Lord upon his final coming will be quite literal. Also, the brightness is actually the Glory of the Lord. There is a story in the Old Testament where Jesus shone down from Heaven upon Saul and asked him why are you persecuting me. As a result, Saul lost his vision for a while.

And I have seen two movies called "The Day the Earth Stood Still". The theme of one was the stupidity of war. The theme of the other was the stupidity of environmental destruction. Neither had anything to do with Jesus.
