Have you not seen, have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of all the ends of the Earth does not faint or grow weary, neither is there any searching of His understanding.
He gives power to the faint, and He increases strength to those who have no might.
But the youths shall faint and the young men shall utterly fall.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew there strength,
they shall mount up with wings as eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:28-31

Good scripture. I feel a bit weary right now. This world can be burdensome at times. Couple that with your own burdens and weariness is the result. Sounds bleak, but i know that waiting on the Lord is the answer. It will not always be this way. My soul hopes in redemption. To be freed from this prison.

Yes, God is good and is always there for us.

Not an easy task.

Matthew 5:6 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?

In Exodus 3 when Moses encountered God in the burning bush and when Joshua encountered the Captain of the hosts of the LORD both were told to remove their shoes for they stood on holy ground.

When the Prodigal son came back the Father said to put shoes on his feet. We are accepted in the Beloved.

These are excellent reminders/studies.

Never thought about that before.

Thanks!

I hadn't thought about it in awhile either, but the other day I was debating with a fellow about the Trinity and I brought up those verses to show Jesus accepting worship.
And thoughts of the Prodigal son are rarely far from my mind.

Isn't it wunnerful how God brings those thoughts to mind? He is a GOOD Teacher.

The inexplicable grace demonstrated in the Prodigal son is precious.

Not when we remain in our own strenght, own offenses and hurt, then it isn't!

But when we stand in Christ's strenght, His love and humility, we will manage this, as we will see it more God's way than our way!

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." (Philippians 4:13)

"For the love of Christ constraineth us;"
(2 Corinthians 5:14a)

Lessons from Genesis 22.
First, a quick summary of the story
God told Abraham to take Isaac to a mount that He would reveal to him and sacrifice Isaac.
Abraham willingly obeyed.
When they got to the mount God told him of, Abraham told the servants to wait, while him and Isaac went to worship.
Isaac asked where the sacrifice was, everything else was there.
Abraham told him that God would provide.
Then Abraham took an unquestioning Isaac and placed him on the altar and was ready to sacrifice him when God told him not to, but to take the ram that was caught by its horns in a thicket.
God told Abraham that now He knew that Abraham because he would not with hold his son, that Abraham would not withhold anything from God.

First we see that Abraham displayed great faith. Hebrews 11:19 says that Abraham believed that God would raise Isaac from the dead.
Isaac only questioned once, after that he had to have willingly submitted to what Abraham was doing.
The ram was caught in the thicket by it's horns, not the fur. So the ram willingly gave his life so Isaac could be saved.
Then we have God's statement of this. Now I know you fear me, because you have not withheld your only son from Me.

Looking at Romans 8:32 in that light, He who spared not His only Son, but gave Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things.

I have come to the conclusion that these scriptures are talking about the same thing. They both mention thorns and fruit.

Matthew 7:16 You will [k]know them by their fruits. [l]Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?

Matthew 13:22 And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the [l]world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 23 And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.”

Psalms 63:1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
63:2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
63:3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

Ephesians 3:11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
3:12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

We have boldness and access with confidence.
All because of Jesus.
Think of a child running to his father, jumping on his lap to tell him the latest thing that happened.
Bubbling with excitement, no thought of rejection by his Dad.
This child knows his Daddy loves him and looks forward to see him.

We can be like that when we understand the breadth, length, depth and height of the love of Christ for us that passes knowledge.
