Sometimes just one word of a verse.
Last week I was meditating on Isaiah 53:4.
I know this verse will, and as I started thinking about each word, I did not get past "surely" before God revealed His love for me.
Surely, not maybe, surely. God didn't just say, Jesus bore our griefs and carried our sorrows", He said "Surely", this is TRUTH, It would have still been great if God had said that, but He made it a point to say "Surely"

So true!

I see these 2 translations have different meanings of the same verse. But we get one truth.
From East to West - all territory
From the rising of the sun to its setting - all time
Praise the LORD wherever you are all of the time.

Isaiah 53:4
I already examined Surely.
Let's do the rest of this fabulous verse.
He Jesus Christ Himself did this wonderful thing. He didn't leave it up to an Angel or anybody else. He did it Himself.
Has It is a done deal. It reminds me of John 19:30, "It is finished".
Borne He took our griefs and sorrows upon Himself. He bore them away as far as the East is from the West.
Our Throughout this chapter notice what Jesus did, and what we did.
Griefs When Matthew quotes this verse (8:17) he says it was infirmities or weakness depending on which version you use.
And He didn't just take our griefs/infirmities, He also
Carried Just like He carried the cross.

Sorrows Matthew translates this as Sicknesses.
But Now we see the 2nd half of the verse. Not as nice as the 1st.

Stricken, smitten of God and afflicted.
In looking at other translations it says that this is a punishment from God.
That is to say we thought He was being punished for His own sins. We thought He was a worthless sinner.
This was our rejection of Him, and it was necessary. God had to wait for just the right time to send Jesus.
If He hadn't of been rejected, maybe the Jews would of actually made Him a King like He actually deserved to be. But then Jesus would not have fulfilled the Scriptures and we today could not be born again.

This one of my all time favorite verses. To know a love that can't be fully known.

Before this thread was started I spent very little time in the Deeper Fellowship forum.
Only coming in here I I had seen a thread get started that I wanted to check out.
Once I started in this thread I found something I did not know I was missing here at CF.
Now I find myself going through and resurrecting some old threads. I have made i for it a point to spend time in this thread and in this subforum.
