I think of the Old Testament reference to Jubal, who was a musician.

"And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ." (Genesis 4.21)

That's a lovely thought SpiritSong. I used to feel that things had to be "just so" and that left little room for creativity, so it's nice to feel that it is good to be creative.

I love to cook, and I suppose I use creativity to adapt recipes. Also in the garden. I'm thinking of doing a rockery, which I've never done before, mainly because I can't get anything else to grow on that spot. Also I enjoy using the plants in the garden to make small displays and would like to do more flower arranging.

What are your creative activities?

I am crocheting a blanket right now. It is as big as from my shoulders to my ankles now and is square shaped.

I love to do little paintings. Usually they are about post card sized. I do them as a running sort of diary, writing on the back of each one, what it is about. Mostly they are abstracts, so I use colors to express emotions and shapes too.

Sometimes I write poetry.

Creative things I have done in the past were to write some piano music and to dance ballet, but I don't do those any longer.

How long has it taken you to crochet the blanket? I used to knit a bit but never really got on with it. I enjoy sewing, but have had little time of late. I'm hoping to finish a skirt I was making, soon.

I love watching ballet, and did a little as a child. I would like to have continued but we moved house and the opportunity was lost. I'm not sure I would have been much good, but I love music (especially classical) and think it must be wonderful to express it in movement.

I once made a double and six single crotcheted bedspreads
I can knit and sew too (Thank you Mummy)
I have two electric sewing-machines here, both antique 'Singer's
(in full working order)

I have photos somewhere of those bedspreads
(external hard-drive, packed-away with several computers)
so, that I am not caught napping, when word-comes
"come now, we are ready for you"

I was always amazed at how creative my class of school children could be when making little figures out of items collected from the bush here in Australia.

I once taught children aged 6-12 all in the same room - all managed to make some terrific things because they are basically very simple, and are based on gum nuts, which in the West we call honky nuts for some unknown reason.

I think that might be what we call here Morning Glory ... a rapid growing creeper with blue to purple flowers that unravel into full bloom in the early morning.
