For four years, the White House believed it would need an army to install President Bush's choices on the Supreme Court, and it set about building one. Political committees were formed, millions of dollars raised, coalitions of allied groups assembled, action plans mapped out, media campaigns scripted.

Yet now, as the president struggles to sell the nomination of Harriet Miers, much of Bush's army is refusing to leave the barracks -- and part of it is even going over to the insurgency...

Because Rush never embellishes or portrays the Republican Party in an overly positive light.

Where you fellas get lost is the fact that the Republican Party has always been segmented. The Conservative seem to control the party but the McCains and Spectors of the Party certainly prove that not all prominent Republicans are Conservative.

Any fresh Ideas out of the DNC lately? Oh yeah - We hate Bush!

If ideology is your standard-of-choice, then I see your McCain and raise you a Zell Miller.

You have a point there.

Well, with the media support on the side of the left, that's not much of a raise. I bet $500 and you raise 5 cents.

I love how Republicans offer the Democrats such fair and evenhanded standards. Enact legislation which will be new and groundbreaking! Do this without control of the senate, the house, or the presidency.

Next up, we have a boxing match between a professional boxer and a professional boxer with his hands firmly tied behind his back! Watch us be fair and balanced!

That canard is oft-repeated, but I doubt it is as one-sided as that. Certainly, the left has virtually no presence in talk radio.

You think? One man is worshipped for being a maverick and the other demonized as a defector.

Not for the lack of trying.

There has been liberals try, but not succeed...Why?

To whom are you referring?
Not for the lack of trying.
Yeah, but trying to circumvent the process. Limbaugh, Coulter and Savage toiled on local stations, gaining grassroots support before going national. Al Franken begs and borrows to get the spotlight right away. Radio just does not seem like the right milieu for instant props.

Or lack of real ideas. All they have is a "Bush Bash" and need people to arrange "loans" form not-so-ethical sources to pay the way. If they had anything worth listening to, don't you think people would?

One day they will figure out that they can't run against Bush anymore.

Al Franken was on SNL for how long? I'd say he's been in the entertainment buisiness for quite some time - which is all that Talk Radio is.

Whereas McCain is forceful yet confident and reassuring, Miller is just abrasive. Recall, he did challenge Chris Matthews to a fight on national TV.

I dunno. Rush made his name doing little more than bashing Clinton. Coulter does nothing but insult liberals anymore.
