  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Alright, let's confess something about ourselves that no one knows. Now this doesn't have to be serious, it's meant to be fun, but if you want to confess something serious then that's fine too.

I've got a few, I'll only do a minor one right now. When I was like 8 years old, I was running down the aisle. Well they had a HUGE tower set up of cooking oils. Well being that I was and still am a clumsy idiot, I ran right into the thing, knocking and spilling about 200 bottles of cooking oil. Well, I couldn't get up because I kept slipping in it (my mom didn't see me knock them over, just that I had fallen into it, so she thought it was quite funny watching me slip around). Finally some guy helped me out. I just walked off, hoping no one would know I did it.

When I was about 11 years old I was resetting the grandfather clock located in the foyer of my (family's) house. To do this you have to pull 3 strings (I don't know the technical term) to lift up 3 weights. Anyway, I pulled all 3 strings at once, which I shouldn't have done, and ended up pulling the whole clock down and over me. Luckily the big clock landed on a potted plant that prevented it from resting completely on me. My cousin found me and helped me, but also got a chuckle out of it. I can imagine how silly I looked! Luckily I wasn't hurt.

Confess something about myself that nobody else knows??? What to confess???

Okay, I secretly like the Watford Football Club-the team that my favourite entertainer of all-time, Sir Elton John, has supported since he was a kid!

Shhhhh-don't tell anyone that I like WFC!

Haha when my sister was born, I had been an only child for four years. Needless to say, I was a little less than pleased with her arrival. So one day when my mom was out checking the mail, I grabbed the ketchup and mustard from the fridge and squirted it all over my newborn baby sister while she was laying in her crib. I got a spanking for it and to this day my sister gags at the sight of mustard.

Alright, now don't think I'm some sort of uncaring, tough guy bully for this... it happened when I was about 10. This hasn't been eating at me or anything, hasn't been tearing me up inside for so many years but it is something I don't think I've ever told anyone ever until now. Ready?

I put a kid in a garbage can. Then i lied to my mom about it. I don't remember all the circumstances but it was on the way home after school. Some kid, must've been about 6 or 7 or 8, for some reason i picked him up and put him in your ordinary metal garbage can that the garbage men used to pick up back before they were all plastic. I put the lid on and walked on home. My mom was terribly sick with the flu, i think, probably this was winter and i remember my mom called me in to her bedroom to ask me about it. Well, i put on my halo and played mommy's little angel as perfect as one can act at Age 10. (The Oscar for Best Actor goes to....) I was far from innocent but I played it off and mom believed me. Somehow the kid's mom must've found out i did this and she called my mom but my mom told the lady she was accusing the wrong person 'cause it surely wasn't me who did such a thing! Absolutely not!!! :holy:

Now I know what you might be thinking - how could someone do that? You're the reason kids go berserk and kill. Where was the parenting? Well, my house had not a single iota of religion. God? Who was God? But ya know what? I really was raised well through all my rebellion and despite the lack of God. I'm college educated, an important person in my community, a gentleman, caring, sweet and now I also live my life for Christ.

But back then, man, whew... i've got stories and that was a brief one (and probably the earliest) that I have never divulged.

Here's a few minor ones from me. I'm trying to think of a really good one to post later. These are things only my closest friends (i.e. two people) know.

I'm a huge comic book geek. I love them. To this day I still collect comics like Batman, Superman, etc. etc.

I love the movie "While You Were Sleeping". It's pretty much my favorite (in fact, one of the only ones I like) romantic comedy.

I eat all the marshmellows of out Lucky Charms and then throw the rest away, but act like I ate the whole box so my mom doesn't get mad at me for wasting food.

I've never seen E.T. (I always catch flak for this, especially since people know me as a huge movie buff)

When I was about 3 years old, I attracted a crowd of about 100 people when I started dancing like a maniac to music they were playing while at the State Fair of Texas.

When I was little, I purposely kicked a car with an alarm to make it go off, then ran off.

I have a "space issue" and have a hard time being in crowds. When I was 20 yrs old my mom and I went with 2 friends to a Women of Faith conference in Chicago and rode the metro to the conference center, that ride wasn't that bad. But when the meeting was done that night everyone was taking the metro back to their hotels and we had to stand in line for a while. I was watching as everyone had to cram into each car and I just kept telling myself that it was no big deal and I could handle it. I wasn't really too bothered by it at that point and it was my first time in a situation like that so I didn't really think too much about it. Well, it came our turn to get in the car and all of a sudden everything got really small and this huge panic swelled up inside me as I started to freeze. I was trying to fight it but mom must have been able to see the panic on my face cuz she went to grab my hand.....big mistake!!! When you feel all confined and panicky as is the last thing you need is someone touching you! I jerked my hand away and said something to the effect of "don't touch me!" Everyone just kind of looked at me and mom said something about me not liking crowds...it's amazing the space that opened up around me!!! How embarrassing! Mom said she had grabbed me cuz when I was younger I used to take off in crowds and she had seen the look on my face that I used to get back then before bolting so it was just force on habit on her part. I had never really thought about it before, but I do have a tendency to just naturally avoid crowded places.

People walking behind me really bother me too...I feel like they are practically on top of me breathing down my neck. I also have a problem with people sitting on both sides of me. People that I feel are pressing in on my space are referred to as "space invaders."

When I was younger I had a really hard time eating out in public because I felt that everyone was always watching me. I think I've pretty much gotten over that one now. I also don't like sitting with my back to the room.

I have a cousin that's an only child and I keep telling her be happy that you didn't have to share with any other siblings. Because you can have everything all to yourself.

Um, okay, I'm not proud of these, and don't judge me harshly from these, but...

I purposely cut my hands with glass twice in my lifetime. The first time I was like 13-15. I basically just missed getting cut and wanted to bleed again, so I had a small piece from some broken nick-nack and lightly cut into my right hand. It was nothing gory. Just like paper cuts, but not. I remember having at least one scar, but it went away over time.

The second time was a BIT more serious (least my reasoning was), but not that much. I was probably like 20 (or 19) and got awful depressed about something so stupid. (I didn't think it was stupid then, of course, but time has passed and I'm a stronger person now than I was a few years ago, so it's stupid to me NOW) I had a piece of small glass from a broken vase at work and made several lines on my hand. It wasn't gory either, but it was enough to scar this time around. And of course it did bleed and all that. My boss saw it one time and thought I was mauled by my cat.

To this day (I'm 23 now) there are still 4 visible scars. I dunno why I got a kick out of such things, but I did. I felt more "interesting" when I bled or was bruised, like it'd get me the attention I wanted. There was even this bruise I got one time (not on purpose) that I wanted to make permanent, so I repeatedly hit it hard with my fist. Thankfully it didn't work. Come to think of it, I've never asked for forgiveness for harming my "temple." Oyyy...God forgive me for hurting myself, your creation when I was down and I should have come to you instead.

Demophobia (hehe, no, that's not the fear of demons :D) I have a touch of that as well. I can get tense and keep absolutely still, avoiding touching people as much as possible. I hate that feeling of being smothered! Feels like people are literally sucking the air outta your lungs. So I too hate crowds. I can only tolerate them when I'm distracted (and thoroughly, I might add) by something else.

Yeah, it's funny how when we are going through trying times in our life or get depressed over things, it seems so dramatic and painful and whatnot, but after we've gotten through it we look back and think "well that was kinda stupid".

I fell in love with a girl back in high school, and I did some really stupid stuff and was basically a complete pushover and whatnot. It all seemed to horrible and dramatic. But now I look back at it and think "God, what the heck was I thinking?"

Same here. I was always drawn to the cute wrestlers-I didn't care if they were faces or heels. It is still that way with today's WWE wretlers lol Speaking of Mania I just ordered a Best of Mania DVD from Amazon.

I was such a tomboy when I was a kid.
