Gideon - Thanks for the initial post, found it a real blessing and could really relate to what you are saying.
For me there is still one area in life that definitely fits into the above that I know of, I was called by the Lord last year to lay my whole life before him, you can read more about it here.

This one sin I'm struggling with has been partial dealt with during the above process in as much as I now feel no condemnation, where as before the guilt caused from the sin was overwhelming. The devil seems to use this particual vice against me everytime I try to push into God in a deeper way, to the point and this has happened, I become scared to walk with the Lord for fear of attack.

Just recently the Lord has revealed the passages of Jacob wrestling with God during the night prior to receiving his blessing and has spoken to me that at some point I will need to take some time out and go through a similar process, I don't know when as yet or what this will involve, Just that the Lord is calling me to do this.

So what has any of this got to do with revival, I remember a preacher being asked about a particular revival for his opinion, He stated somewhat abridge and made up from what I can remember,
You don't need to fly half way round the world to be revived by God, God is with you here and now and can revive you where you are.

So basically we don't need to go chasing after God, If we are born again revival is already in us. So what do I see as revival, Repentance of sin in its true form, Repentance in my understanding is not only to seek forgiveness of sin but to turn from that path, to do a 180 in your life back to the path God wants us to be walking on. This could be a personal encounter as mine seems to be at the moment or a corporate thing.

After typing this and posting, I went and spent some time with God by means of a daily study, today’s study was about Jacob wrestling alone with God, so I definitely feel this confirms the nature of God's call upon my life at the moment.

People like revival. So I believe they have tried everything under the sun to make revival happen. Repentance is just one of those many ways.

Repentance that comes from a pure heart is beautiful. Repentance that comes from someone pointing out sin because they have an agenda is not.

2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Translation - if my people will repent then I will send revival

Thank you for your kind words. I would like to comment if I could, on this that you wrote. You are correct. It is within us. But even with it in us, it will not profit us unless we believe it.

The word states that when Christ died, so did our old man. When Christ rose from the dead, so did we. We are new. Now.

BUT, if we do not believe it and thus do not reckon ourselves dead (like we really are), it will profit us nothing. We will struggle just as if we are not dead at all. Welcome to the 21st century church.

Repentance is the pathway back to life, but when we repent, let us be sure to repent of our biggest sin.... unbelief. It is also our vilest one.

You see, God knows what fleshly man is capable of and it surpises Him not a whit when we sin grievous, disgusting sins. We all possess the remnants of fallen man. But unbelief is different. It accuses God Himself of being a liar, and calls His character into disrepute. Let us repent and believe the promises of God, for the two must be forever intertwined.

The promises are our pathway to become like Him. They are our highway of holiness..... not TO holiness... OF holiness.

They tell us that:

...we are no longer slaves to sin and self.

...our shield of faith works.

...that He will cause us to will and to do of His good pleasure.

...we are no longer in the flesh, but dead to it and owe it NADA.

Potent stuff. Awesome stuff. Overcoming stuff.

Blessings,

Gideon

Gideon - Thanks for your response, again something I can relate to and a trick the devil does use,

I've sinned therefore maybe I truly wasn't really saved.

I've found myself asking this question before.

Was going to post some more but not really sure what to say so I'll just leave as the above.
