  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

An interesting observation:
THE CHRISTIANS
[Some professing Christians are described here, often seen and observed by their walk, work and ways; and discernment is necessary and important for true Christianity and faithfulness among the saints of God (note John 7:24). - By Robert DeWitt ]

Serving saints: (this in various degrees) devoted, generous, caring saints who exalt and speak much of the Lord Jesus Christ, and encourage others to know and trust Him, serve, and read God's Word.

Reserved saints: (in various degrees) found as real believers faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ when viewed closely, but very private in beliefs, devotions, prayers; and concerned more with self management, interests and thoughts, than with a Gospel testimony and other people and their ways (perhaps somewhat like "Martha" and "Mary" --as Luke 10:38-42).

Carnal saints: often showing at times a true belief in Christ, yet are very worldly and conforming more to those pleasing and convenient ways of the world, than a separated path to Godly ways, honor, glorifying God and conforming to His mind.

Professing Christians: weak testimony of being a true saint ("born again" as John 3; John 14; & 1 Jn. 5: 10-12), causing much doubt by the saints as to their reality of faith and life in Christ; yet they tend to associate with Christianity.

Casual Christian professors: not appearing clear as to reality toward the Creator-God, His salvation, and real faith, and only rarely are found among the gatherings of saints of God.

This all seems to be a cause for self-examination of our relationship with God as in Christ
(John 3) for salvation of our eternal soul. Do we know Him (as 2 Cor. 13:5); and do we belong to Him by real faith (as John 14:6); are we living for Him or for ourselves?

The expression 'carnal saint' is an oxymoron. You can't be under the redeeming influence of the Spirit (saint), and not be (carnal), at the same time. It's a logical and spiritual impossibility. Romans 8:7-9; James 4:4-5

There is nothing moronic about the paper, I see. It appears very true to life. A true "born again" saint can indeed be worldly and living much in the flesh (carnality). All true saints have flesh problems, for sure, and one who lives and enjoys fleshly pursuits could still be a "child of God" by possession of Christ ---though that one forgets the Lord often and indulges self. The verses in Romans and James you mentioned is not speaking about salvation, but about not pleasing and honoring God; which is a call to wake up and get back to humility before God by those who are going astray.

I can understand that if one claims perfection and never indulges their flesh, they might think such a one is not redeemed, but Scripture does not teach that all saints are perfect, I see ---only a perfect standing, while perhaps their state is carnal. Would you agree to that?
