Since several members visit and participate in this section of the forum, I would like to start a thead where we can just hang out, chill and socialize, without debate, or science topics, or any of that stuff. Perhaps the moderators would make this a stickie?


So, I'll start.


Have you been watching the Olympics? The only 'sport' I don't get is curling. Curling??? Really?

Curling is great. The only "sport" where you can grab a few beers and chill with friends while screaming at one another.

Also, perhaps you have made the mistake of watching only men's curling. I think part of the requirements to be a female curler is that you have to be young and good-looking

Sounds like softball games when I was in my youth. In St. Paul, Minnesota they were more laid back and kegs were allowed in city parks on the ball fields. I don't recall anyone ever abusing the drinking and playing action. That was not the case in Minneapolis. As a result the ball fields were always full in St. Paul. Next door, not so much.

Curling is an absolute mystery to me. It is valentines day here, so happy valentines to you all. I've just tucked the kids into bed and I've got my head stuck in a book on the role of textual criticism in the Church. Sipping chardy.

Winter Olympics aren't my thing. I'm not really that much of a sports guy, in fact. I do watch summer Olympics though, if only for the men's and women's artistic gymnastics competition (I used to be a gymnast and coach).

I even forgot to set the DVR to record the opening ceremony, which I did intend to watch, so I missed the snowflake catastrophe that was all over the news a few days ago. I suppose YouTube will have it, though.

I broke up with my girlfriend almost 3 weeks ago. She will never step foot in my house again. Too much drama. Add to that, I finally had enough.

I'm actually already playing two games at once, but I can play a third. You should check out the subforum though, there are several people who are looking for new players to have games with. And if we post our games in the threads there we can see each other's games. It's more fun that way IMO.

I've checked it out, but I can't make heads or tails of it.

All I see is a board, but no pieces.

I'll mess around with it and see what I can come up with.

Well the idea is that you use your own board at home to make the moves. Or you can use a free program on the computer that can store multiple games.
