Notice how sneaky his brothers still are, still afraid of getting harmed for their deeds..,

Yes Jimmy, I noticed the life span are getting shorter, I also noticed that Joseph got buried in a coffin in Egypt and not in Israel? any reason for that?

It looks like it broke Joseph's heart that his brothers said what they did, because they were thinking Joseph held a grudge against them, when it was merely their guilty consciences that they were plagued with. Joseph made it quite clear that they were forgiven, yet they still harbored in their hearts something that indicates they were not whole hearted with Joseph when he revealed himself to them and Joseph made it quite clear that he loved all of them and had forgiven them. If they were honest they would've verified with Joseph right then if all the forgiveness was fer-real, so Joseph could have cleared it all up totally and there would've been a clean slate.

So Joseph was buried in Egypt? And left there?

I'm guilty of that...I mean, I KNOW He says He'll forgive us but then I get that part in my mind that asks "Am I forgiven?"....I think it's how I see how alot of family or friends say they forgive yet act cold...so then I apply it to God as well and I shouldn't...He says He'll forgive, well then, He does...:)

It may upset God, but I don't THINK it would break His heart...only because He knows us better than we know ourselves...with Joseph, he knew his brothers but to a limit...as we all know our family and friends to a limit, but God knows us through and through, which then would make Him more understanding...

hmmmmm.....i dunno....i heard once that what matters uttermost to God, is that we believe Him...

somehow this may tie into why Abraham, Elijah, Daniel, Moses, Noah, Enoch, and Job, etc. were known as men of God and walked with Him.

Remember though, Moses had a bit of a time of belief at first...remember when God wanted Moses to do his thing and Moses was bummed out because of his speech problem?
At first, Moses wasn't like "Sure God, I'll do it"...no, he was unsure even though God wanted him to do it...

I wonder why the Egyptians assumed that the Israelites would go against them? You would think as long as you're gettin' along with each other, then no problem...

Can't believe Pharoah wanted the boys killed...how horrible...

I wonder why Pharaoh wanted the boys killed. You would think he'd want to kill the women or girls so that the men could work!

And it's time to move on to Exodus 2! Happy to see that this Bible study has gone this far :)
So here's April 11th's chapter: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus%202&version=NIV

God bless you,
Grace

Glad to see you here, Krikey! Looking forward to having your input :)

Am I the only person who was impressed with how well Moses' sister handled the situation? I guess the Bible doesn't say how old she was, but I had always assumed about 8. I know some little girls that age who would have been paralyzed with fear.

Ok, I've reread it several times now, and am piecing it together. I misunderstood and it's plainly there. The little girl stood watch as the mother placed Moses in the water. Was the intention of Moses' mother to simply hide him and keep in the basket by the waterside, indefinitely?

As a child I was told this story and I always envisioned the mother placing the basket in the river, the basket flowing down the river and then ending up somewhere that Moses was found (extremely lucky to have lived through so many rapids). Talk about misunderstanding! haha
