Matthew 21:
This is worthy of further study, for it doesn't mean that God is a great "Genie" in the sky, and He grants our "wishes" or that he's a "Santa Claus".
Reminds me of this quote:
"The prevailing idea seems to be, that I come to God and ask Him for something that I want, and that I expect Him to give me that which I have asked. But this is a most dishonouring and degrading conception. The popular belief reduces God to a servant, our servant: doing our bidding, performing our pleasure, granting our desires. No, prayer is a coming to God, telling Him my need, committing my way unto the Lord, and leaving Him to deal with it as seemeth Him best." ~A W Pink

This is an entire study in itself.
Does it perhaps tie into why Jesus, in the Garden of Gethsemane sweat, as it were, great drops of blood and asked that the cup be taken away, but nevertheless, the Father's will be done, and not His own?
Right HERE is where Jesus Himself is demonstrating this verse, inexplicably:
"For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." ~Hebrews 4:15

Now we move on to the 2nd book of the New Testament, Mark.
Mark 1:
"And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. How tragic that the Pharisees were given opportunity after opportunity to embrace WHO Jesus was, yet CHOSE darkness, and consequently it GRIEVED Jesus because of the utter hardness of their hearts.
Tragic.
"And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other." ~Mark 3:5

Jesus is saying here that His disciples needed a "retreat", a place for reprieve, and to rest.
