Thank you for your quotation from the Bible. Yes I did read that David and his men ate the shewbread but God's loving hand was on David's shoulder. I just assumed that it was OK if it was done under the guidance from God.

But what did shock me was the violence of the Israelites at the Battle of Jericho and at the Battle of Ai.

In fact there was great slaughter all during the conquest of the promised land and it was disturbing to read it.

But I have no criticism of what was done if it was God's will for his chosen people to have a land of their own. The Israelites were working under the guidance and protecting hand of God.
