Just to point out for those new Christians that may be peaking in....

You can not serve two masters. It's either Praise the Lord or hail satan.

I have to agree with some though. When you have leadership posting on both sites as it is going on now, you are going to have a real issue. We as a Christian site must represent Christ. Having leaders, be they MOD's et al or just people who contribute to this site, acting in the manner they do on the other will undercut the Message we are to bring.

This is true. Amen Karrie to what you said.

I'm sure it's ok.

However, I will say this ... if we start posting about specific instances somewhere else, and those people also post here. You can be darn sure it's going to get reported. That's the way things go, and it will more than likely get actioned on, even if the things said over there ... wouldn't be allowed over here.

Actually it's gotten back to spite reporting again.
Seriously, people really do need to get a life out there.

Yes, I've seen some of what you're talking about, and experienced it myself.

Some people, who do not like us, are going to try the "Lets throw everything against the wall, and hopefully something will stick." approach to reporting. Unfortunately, my experiences as a moderator over the past 5 or 6 years tells me that after awhile, moderators will start to think ... all this smoke, obviously there has to be a fire around here somewhere. And in an attempt to shut up the obsessive reporters, they'll probably try to seek some sort of compromise, even if the things we say are true and accurate and within the scope of the rules.

So, what to do? Give them less things to report. Mentioning people by names, or commenting on specific actions (even those that are obviously stupid, ill-conceived or the like) only increases the chances that our posts will get reported. Which is why I advocate not talking about that place as a rule of thumb.

Karrie, I understand your concern that new believers peeking in at this thread might get confused about the two masters. It is good to clarify such things.

Let me give this admonition to the rest of the members of this thread: Even more confusing to them will be believers gossipping about other members. If you don't approve of what goes on at the other forum, then don't repeat it over here. :sigh:

NYJ is right. Just leave it. It edifies nobody.

Yep, I know what you mean about the specifics - I usually don't post about specific persons for just that reason.

I figure it this way, God is in full control & He'll handle all slander and lies and false witness in due time. There's a season for sowing & a season to reap the whirlwind from it.
In the end, we all meet up with God and give Him a full account of our life and words; based on motive. No one escapes it.
My conscience is clear... and when it isn't, I HAVE THE LORD who I pray to forgive me my sins & trespasses.

information is edifying to me tho in that it's helpful - based on what others have shown me from iidb posts, I learned alot Belinda!
;)

& was Paul not being "edifying" when he warned other believers about specific persons who did him harm? or were working against the faith? I differ on this issue for a few reasons, I don't believe we should try to use scripture to point to it being "wrong" when there are instances where warning and information are important.

the real issue is doing it with the right motive in the right WAY.... that shouldn't be a problem and it isn't wrong.

It may not be edfying in your view, but it is a real concern by many including myself.

An admonition is at times not needed as much as listening to a concern.

Unfortunately, some of the actions by our leaders in that other forum effect this forum. It concerns me greatly.

NYJ...

Wise thought though. There are times when protection is far more important than voicing a concern.

There's nothing wrong with going over there and reading. It's when you bring it back here and start talking about specific people that it becomes a problem.

For example, I understand why Moriah posted what she did over there. Those talking about it here do not, so it constitutes gossip to talk about her and speculate. It's best to leave it over there or ask for clarification over there. Talking about a person without all the facts and when they can't even post in the thread is gossip.

In all due respect and using this as an example, when you are her friend, post over there, and then MOD over here, there is no trust.

I don't blame the concerns, sharing of info, or the mistrust. I have been on both sides and I believe there is valid concerns.

In keeping with NYJ's suggestion this is my last comment on this issue. I do not wish to add to the watchful eyes of some who would like to see this thread shut down.

Yes, unfortunately it's a problem TO THE WRONG FOLKS. It SHOULD be a problem to those doing the nasty posting... but that's not the case, it's the ones who work to expose it that get the actions taken against them for warning.
It's typical too, they killed the prophets & apostles of the bible for just that - speaking the TRUTH and bringing warning.

So be it, God will handle it all when He sees fit.

I understand why ...
If all of us partook of the actual situation, we might understand as well. However, that doesn't mean it's even remotely an appropriate behavior or thing to do.

Anyways, this is my last comment on that particular issue.

I would like to say that I have never seen Belinda post anything there which she has reason to be ashamed of.
And frankly, given that everyone seems to be reading it anyway, it is hardly secretive!

Sorry - butting out now and unsubscribing.
God bless you all.
