I recognize the names that have posted but do not understand.
I am sorry I am being a bit air-headish...CCC?
It has been a long day.
That's good to know. In the past, they were located in a differently shaded box at the bottom of every post, which ensured that a persons reputation preceded them in every single post they made. At least it's nice to know that the moderators need to expend a bit more elbow grease with this system to get to them.FYI. Usernotes don't appear with every post, only in profiles.
Now, that's just using common sense. Can't have that around here!Eww. I would hate that as a moderator. I prefer to judge people's posts on their own merits and not on what somebody else says about them in a usernote.
Which is really why usernotes are pointless. It doesn't take much to figure out who a persons sockpuppets are (IP check, please!). Everything else is automated, and should be as easy to collect as the usernotes are.Eww. I would hate that as a moderator. I prefer to judge people's posts on their own merits and not on what somebody else says about them in a usernote.
Given the intimate relationship of the the Forum Specific Moderators with their particular fora, is this really a problem?I think they are primarily useful for FSBs, so that a moderator can tell at a glance if somebody is FSB'd. Of course, that means the usernote needs to be removed in a timely fashion when the FSB is over.
