  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think it was unrealistic due to the fact that this one small group of kids exeprienced more pain, betrayl, suffering, problems, etc. in one short year of their lives (in the beginning of the movie) than do most people in their entire life.
It was kinda like, just expect the worst for each situation in the movie.
If you feel this way you either live a very sheltered life or live in a different reality... watch the news, read yahoo, check out cnn... research different 3rd world countries... read about THIS country. Children live through worse than that every day in this country.

I saw the previews for "The Butterfly Effect" in the theater and thought it looked very cool, both plot-wise and visually.

Once it came out in theaters, I read a few reviews on some christian sites I check often. I read through what the content and plot and etc. was, and decided no to see it. I don't watch rated R movies anyways, so it wasn't a big deal at all.

I actually encouraged others not to watch it because of the situations and content. Like someone posted before, this is going on all over the news and in real life. Why graphically depict it in a fictional movie?

A few friends of mine did see, and found it confusing for the most part. I love psychological mess-with-your-mind movies so much, so I think if it were executed better, I may have greatly enjoyed it.

Bummer, though. Great potential of an original idea gone to waste. Perhaps someone can do better with something similar.

I LOVE that movie. I didn't appreciate all the sex and blood, but it was really great. The ending was great also! I think it went really well with the movie. The alternate ending I haven't seen but my friends have and told me about it and we agree that the original was way better!
