Here's a thread that's directed to the Bride of Christ. Often when I'm looking at art on the internet I think, "That would be a great representation of the Bride of Christ." Especially a lot of Pre-Raphaelite art brings the Bride to mind.

So here's a place to post bridal art and poetry...

Here's the scripture that frames this thread:

Ephesians 5:24-33

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her {26} to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, {27} and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. {28} In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. {29} After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church-- {30} for we are members of his body. {31} "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." {32} This is a profound mystery--but I am talking about Christ and the church.{33} However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Amen, dear sister Amy!

This is a wonderful idea for a thread and a beautiful counterpart to the "Beloved Jesus" threads.

I do not have any bridal pictures or poetry to share right now, so I will simply contribute Revelation 19: 7-9:

"Let us rejoice and exult, and let us give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.
And it was given to her that she should be clothed in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
And he said to me, Write, Blessed are they who are called to the marriage dinner of the Lamb. And he said to me, These are the true words of God."

The Rose and the Love Note

I sent to Jesus a special note
Sealed with a kiss I set it afloat
Within I had crushed a perfect rose
I prayed it would reach Him in His repose
My love poem I sent across the waves
My heart in a letter I willingly gave
The sea carried my note straight to His hand
He read my plea, my urgent command,
“Come to me at once! I die of love
Come and receive Your wounded dove!”

The rose I sent was fresh and fair
It bled upon the pages there
That delicate rose so lovingly pressed
Jesus kissed and sweetly blessed
And placing my note on His wounded breast
With a sigh He stood from His place of rest,
“My love, My sweet one beckons Me
Without effort I shall tread the sea
The raging sea knows no calm
‘til My voice pours forth the healing balm.
Peace be still! I come on the waves
I’m yearning to love, to heal and to save!”

Jesus I saw fast approaching me
His love was born on the waves of the sea
And before I knew He came like a flood
He swept me up in the tide of His blood,
“Your love note came, now you must come!”
In the heart of the sea my heart was won,
Seven times over immersed in my King,
With Him only to grasp and no other thing!

Beautiful! I am very familiar with this picture.

Here's a quote form the Song of Solomon to go along with it:

"...Let my Beloved come into His garden. Let Him taste His rarest fruits." Chapter 4:6

Keep em' coming Steph!
