In honor of His Sorrowful Passion....

Jesus says to His Bride...

Try...please try to catch My sighs, My groans, My tears, My sweat, My blood and place them always in your heart. These are My love gifts for you, My beloved...Precious gems, precious pearls...do not let them fall by the wayside where men trample them under foot. Behold and see how much...

Today is the birthday of the Bride of Christ!
Think about it. As Bob Ayala sings,

I've been living a long time,
I was born on Easter Morning,
I've been living a long time,
Since the stone was rolled away.

Happy Birthday, Church!
Resurrection day is the day Jesus is innaugarated into His Kingdom and the disciples were told to wait for empowerment that they recieved 50 days later on Pentecost day (50 days after the Passover) Jesus was still on earth 40 days

So, hellalluya!!! Pentecost day is the bride's birthday!! Not the resurrection day of Christ!

(not to get technical, but that is the proper order of things)

btw Pentecost day was a day of present giving also!)

:hug::thumbsup:

Well, that's one way to look at it, and maybe just as valid. However, if you judge the life of the church by the filling of the Holy Spirit, on one of the days after the resurrection, Jesus breathed on the disciples and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit." You could count that day if you want--or perhaps any number of days. But I don't discount the importance of the day the Church was first endowed with power from on high. Where would we be without that? At the most, maybe holding a form of religion but denying the power thereof.

I also wonder whether in the spiritual realm birth can take longer than just one day... Well, that makes me think. I was in labor with my daughter 29 hours, which is more than a day, but they count when she actually came out and was shown to the world as her birth moment. So in that sense, maybe you're right, verses! Pentecost was when the church stepped out of the shadows and showed itself to the world--taking on many new members that day because of the Holy Spirit within them.
What would Easter be, then? The conception day, maybe? For without Jesus rising from the dead, the Holy Spirit would not have even been sent.

Anyway, happy resurrection day, all who are raised with Christ!

Verses thanks for sharing. Glad to see you here. Uh...hmmmm...(not to get technical) but....the birth of the Church is actually when the spear pierced Jesus side since blood and water came from his side. Just as eve was taken form Adam's side when he was put to sleep even so when Christ fell into the sleep of death we came from the side of the new Adam. We die with Christ and we were also raised with Him.

P.S. I want to shsre some more about this later. I have a couple of pieces of art that illustrate this and if I canfind it, a short story. now ya got me goin'
