Dear sister Amy,
Your post is so wonderful! Your words are incredibly encouraging!
Amen!Yes, our true life really is hidden with Christ in God. What a marvelous place to be hidden - in the very depths of God! And what a marvelous One to be hidden with - our beloved Christ Jesus!
Amen!Thank you, dear sister, for reminding us of who we really are in Him! May His beauty so attract us that we turn from our natural selves and see only Him, and who we really are in Him! What we are in our natural self is not who we will be eternally, it is not who we are really are in Him.
He is working deep within us to transform us into His absolutely beautiful, radiant, awesome, image! This is a deep and mysterious work - He is transforming us more and more into that which we already are in Him! This is a work that will last for all eternity and we will shine forth to His glory forever and ever! Praise Him!![]()
I have to second your amen, JohannAt! And boy do we need to keep our eyes on Him and remember, we are not of this world. We are heading towards Him, ever closer. Thank God.
This post and Amy's with the beautiful Princess Bride are helping me to put words to something Jesus has been showing me.
I was praying the Rosary the other day...and as you probably know, part of the Hail Mary echoes the words of Elizabeth to Mary when they greeted each other...
"Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb."
And it was like I was seeing....Mary WAS blessed. Her child IS the blessing of all time to all people!
But during their lives on earth, it didn't look like that very much, did it.
They both endured SO much suffering. Jesus of course!!, especially. More than any other will ever suffer.
And yet they ARE the two most precious and blessed humans of all time. (Jesus of course being fully God also!!)
BUT.....they had to hold on to God, they had to hold onto His Words to them during their walk on this earth.
So do we.
God recently encouraged me with some precious words of promise. This during the midst of one of the hardest years I've ever had so far in my life.
Back when He spoke to me, (prophetically through another person at church) I had written down what He'd said, and just the other night I felt Him reminding me to read the words again. And again!
Now this week things have continued to be very hard, mostly regarding great concerns I have over three of my children.
One who is going through a very long, hard road, life threatening at times...
One who is going to Iraq soon....
and one who has had his heart broken.
My heart is aching so much for them.
All of these things, I know God is in control, but it is SO hard to keep hope and not be afraid. The sorrow in my heart seems overwhelming sometimes, especially lately.
Jesus' life on this earth was SO hard, He was and is The Man of Sorrows. And His Mother suffered SO at the suffering of her Son, especially as He died on the Cross.
But God called her most blessed of all women.
And the Names of Jesus, Triumpant, overcoming, Lord of Lords....His great and all powerful Names are many.
But during this life on earth, they both had to HOLD ON.
How amazing is that? And truly He is our great High Priest, who is all compassion for us in our suffering.
Just like Peter said, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has fallen upon you... as if some strange thing were happening to you. And yet I am still surprised! Thank God He understands and He carries us.
I just needed to share. I hope this makes sense to others the way I have written it!
He is our comfort, and our only answer, truly. And even He had to hold on tight to God's promise when Everything looked awful.
Even He!
