"Well John, she might have gone somewhere besides her apartment. And what if we had been able to catch up to her?"

John scratched his chin before answering. "I bet that she probably did go to her apartment, even though I don't have physical evidence to say otherwise. It wouldn't hurt to go check anyway."

"If she did go to her apartment, there's little chance of her letting us in after what we said....Well, your her boyfriend! Go talk to her!!" Edward said.

Nodding Edie looked back at the direction they had run from, "And I really don't feel good standing out here talking after what had just happened, we need to find somewhere else to stand around or get moving."

"The police might still be looking for us, if they know we ran....Those people back there may have ratted us out, thinking we had a connection to the book....After all, tha girl had one of the Pages, and I think she suspected something...." Edward said.

"John, you go and talk to Yuzuki. Edie and I will head back to her house...." Edward said, as he started walking.

Edie waved to John as she jogged after Edward, "Well, this sucks. If Anthony wakes up he'll rat us out, or at least me. And those girls probably squealed on us, if we use the Book now they'll be let free and the dectective will be back on us. What do we do now?"

"Remember what I told you not to do.....?" Edward said. He became silent for a moment, stopping. He waited a moment for Edie to respond.

"We're going to use the Book on Anthony." Edward said. "But, in a way that he can't rat us out...." Edward said.

After getting over her initial shock, a smile spread over Edie's face, "Finally. He'll be in the hospital now, it's perfect, they could say he died from unexpected complications during reconstructive surgery."

John nodded a yes to Edward, "Alright, but if she tries to call the cops on me, I might have no choice but to subdue her," he said before he walked along the sidewalk that led to Yuzuki's apartment while thinking, "What am I going to say? I can't just go and act like nothing's wrong. I'm incapable of doing something like that. Well, maybe if I explained the whole thing to her she might understand, then again, is she tries to call the cops on me, I'll have no choice but to subdue her then I'll have to drag her unconscious body to Edie and Edward and explain to them that she's unconscious, not dead, then I'll stay by her side as she slowly becomes conscious again," be fore knocking on her door.

Yuzuki's heart started beating faster and adrenalin pumped through her body. Yuzuki silently made her way to the door, and looked through the keyhole. She saw John. Her guess was right. Yuzuki stood up and ran to the only window in the apartment, and opened it. She looked down, pondering if she would be able to land alright or not.

When Kari heard the phone ring, she place a bookmark in her place and picked up the phone.

"Hello? This is Kari."

"Hello, Kari?"

"Dee! What's wrong? You sound terrible!" Kari was so scared for her friend she almost started to cry.

((I'm teaching you patience. And, uh, why is Kari panicing? She doesn't even know anything is wrong yet.))

"Hey, yeah, Kari? Could you bring me a cake with a nailfile in it?" Deedra said. The guard glared at her. "Relax, I'm only kidding..." She muttered. "Ok, so nix the cake with a file. I'm in jail custody. They think I'm a killer. But don't worry.-And I MEAN don't worry. Once this get cleared up, I'll be free." She assured her, thinking "I hope..."
"Just come by and visit, 'k? I only have one call, you know." She continued.

"I will. You can be sure of that. What happened to make him so suspicious?" Kari said. She was curious; this was a clue that she had been wanting.

When she looked over to the loveseat, she jumped, having glimpsed a man in weird clothes sitting on the couch. The sight only lasted a moment, but it was hard to put out of her mind like she could normal curiousities.

The guard tapped his watch. Deedra sighed. "I can't explain everything now, but like I said, come here and we'll talk more. My time's up, Kari, I'll talk to you soon, 'k? Thanks. Bye."

"Bye." Kari hung up the phone and sighed in resignation.

She was startled out of her revery by a voice.
"Why haven't you written anything down, Kari?"

She jumped and turned around. The man she had seen was back again.

"Who are you?" Kari asked in a whisper.

"My name is Micheal. All that possess the Book of Life can see and hear me I am the angel of death."

Kari's eyes bulged. What was this 'Book of Life'? Was she really seeing and talking to an angel? It was too bizar to believe right away. She had to learn more.

"What is the Book of Life? What was it used for? Are you really an angel?" Kari asked.

"Let me assure you that every word I say is true. The Book of Life is a book made by God for the Jews to use to slay their enemies. Anything that you write on those pages will come true. But be warned... the things you write can have unforeseen consequences." Michael stated

Kari gulped. She was scared of the consequences and wondered if such an insignificant person could really be worthy of writing such impacting words. She started shaking out of the daunting prospect. Of having such enormous power. At first she rejected the idea completely. Such power, she had been told, came with great responsability. She wondered if she was ready for it.

"I'm sure you have much to think about, but you can always call on me at any time." With that, Micheal dissapeared.

Kari moved to her bed and sat down. After a while, she adjusted herself in a laying position. She stared at the wall and thaught over what had happened that day and what she had learned from Michael. Was that how the Jews defeaded all those enormous enemies with little chance of winning? was her final thaught before she slept.
