At the station, they took her to the room where they question suspects. Not a good sign...The police chief and a detective sat accross from her.
"Are you calmer now?" the chief asked.
"I think so."She decided to tell as much truth as possible, in case they put her on a polygraph test.
"I will question you first. Let's start with your name."
"Deedra Ragan."
"Ok, Deedra, tell me about the burned tree."
"I was at my stand, minding my business, when a man lit it on fire, some how. I didn't catch what he looked like, nor how he did it, though. I called 911. But soon, a surprise rain shower came through, for about 10 minutes. It extinguished the tree before the fire department could get there." She explained
"And the unconcious man?"
"He was chasing a girl who had been a customer. She looked terrified, so, out of concern that he would hurt her, I ran in front of him so he would fall when he ran into me. Her boyfriend, I assume, came about then and threw a rock at the guy, missing him. the guy got up to charge, but I grabbed his pants, they fell. The girl turned back and ended up punching him in the nose, knocking him out. Then they ran away. I was just about to."
"Detective, I believe, it's your turn." the Chief said.
The detective nodded, turning his attention to Dee. "Are you aware that there havae been mysterious murders in town?"
"Yes, I have been watching the news."
"It seems very convienient that it would rain so suddenly, just as the tree was beginning to burn. No where else reported rain. Can you explain that?"
"No, sir. What are you saying?" She said, thinking,
"uh-oh...Is he going to connect me to the murders?"
"I'm saying that an outside supernatural force could be my only explanation.
Were you part of that force?"
"If I were, why did I call 911?"
"So you could use it as a cover! Now answer the question yes or no!"
"YES! I did cause it to rain! I found some pages that makes whatever you write come true. Only after I called 911 I remembered what I had and what I could do. I did not, and would not, EVER break the law with the pages."
The detective looked at the chief and nodded.
