Current Reading: (most I'll only read once, so it should go fast)
A book about the Jewish Pseudepigrapha, Docherty. (doubt I'll read the JP, but I want to know about it)
Dictionary of Daily Life in Biblical Antiquity, Yamauchi. (fun broad dictionary)
Luke commentary, Morris. (take a breath easy commentary)
God and Prob. of Evil, Meister. (one of those 5 views books)
Black Death, Hatcher. (History of black plague put in a 1st person fictional view)
Week in the Life of Corinth, Witherington. (light weight fun, like Black Death, but short and easy.)
Charts on Ethics, Mitchell. (charts help me see things from another angle)
Charts on Church History, Walton. (Walton is one of my favorite OT writers)
Luke, Common English Bible.
Convenient Myths, Provan. (too weird to explain)
Bib History of Israel, Provan.
Early Christian Martyr Stories, Litfin.
Latest book by Enns. (1/2 way through and I can't recall the name. It's a Nook.)

Prepping:
Life and Diary of David Brainerd. (because of your other book thread)
The Moral Quest, Grenz. (intro Christian ethics)
Benefit of the Doubt, Boyd.
Hist of Christianity, Dowley.

Wanting to Read/Use:
Finish Greek Tutor Software, (dream on)
Inductive Bible Study, Bauer. (more dreaming)
Acts, Common English Bible.
History book on philosophy, psych, church, something.
I'm in a bit of process as to what I should spend time on.

There's a lot more, but I'm really not up for anything too challenging. Just some fun light reading.

I also really want to read some more military books. Non-fiction ones. So if anyone has any suggestions feel free to let me know. :)

Right now I'm going to request from the library "Fearless" by Eric Blehm and also We Were Soldiers..I forget who that's by though. And Red Platoon as well.

Don't get me started. But i will say that im very appreciative of the books He puts in my hands and the hunger He has given me for them.
@LadyOfMystery Fearless was my favorite book for a while. I read it before i was converted and now i can remember very little about it.

When I read it I will let you know what I think about it.

Oh please, do start though haha If you have any recommendations let me know. I'm always willing to read books and widen my genre of books.

On a side note, there's nothing like seeing in your notifications "boogeyman has mentioned you in a post" Lol

Had to reread the book Early Christian Martyr Stories. I was almost through and I realized I was reading translations by the author. Today I read through it all again and got quite a different perspective.

Sounds interesting.

Also I should get Little Women too.

Would anyone ever be interested in having a book club? Where we read the same book and then discuss it? It could be a themed book club or just a random one where we all get to pick a different style of book each time. Or whatever. :)

So! I found some new (some actually new and some just new to me) books I really want to read:

The Casual Vacancy by J K Rowling
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton
Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak
The Lying Game by Ruth Ware
The River at Night by Erica Ferencik

Also a book I want to read again is "Someone is Watching" by Joy Fielding. I hated that there was foul language in the book but oh my word it was a great book!

Also my favoriteee book ever The Snowman by Jo Nesbo is going to become a movie! I think Michael Fassbender will be the lead guy. :bigeye:

If you enjoy crime thrillers, murder mysteries, etc I recommend the book BUT I will say some of the murders are kinda gruesome but the plot twist is ah-mazing. :)

I know there's a "what are you reading" thread but I bumped this because my book list is forever expanding and I wanted to know of books y'all recommend. What are some of your favorite genres? What book could you not put down or could you not finish?

Inquiring minds. :satisfied:

I'm a complete book nerd and overachiever, I'm reading 12 at once but I am always looking for new reads. lol

Hillbilly Elegy has been on my to read list for awhile, just need to take that plunge. I read North & South either in 2018 or 2019 and it was really really good.
