  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Got a meeting with my minister tonight about my ministry for the year (ie, I think it's a 'what is it' discussion)...

Our minister is a firm believer that if you bring a 'lack' you see in the church to his attention, he will see if you're willing to do it. Well, smart me answered the question 'what would you like to see taught this year' with 'how to have a healthy relationship - especially for youth'... needless to say, I'm thinking he's going to ask me to lead it!

Ahh well... one day I'll learn!

Hmmm...well I'm on nights and at midnight I get a double whammy. I have to come to terms with new port security legislation and the new computer software the boffins promised us hasn't arrived yet because it doesn't work, so I have to cope with ther changes with the pld software, which also doesn't work (well most of the time).

This could be a loooooong night.

One of those earth shattering revelations has just come my way a few minutes ago.

Here I am, born and bred in the City of Hull, talking daily with half the population of Brisbane, and guess which subject has totally not been talked about at all ? One which is dear to the hearts of residents of both towns.

Any guesses ?

Here's a clue, think Bronco's

Both cities have wild horses roaming the hills?

Well smart you just needs to say "I was wanting to hear other people teaching about healthy relationships, so I can learn more."

Hull FC actually.

I take it from the way this is going that the chances of us having a Cyber Corps virtual Rugby league team are pretty slim.

I thought all you Aussies were nuts about the game.

If you think Aussies are nuts about Rugby, what does that make South Africans?

I was born in South Africa, started my schooling there too. I had a few incidents with teachers telling me I had to play in the school teams for cricket and rugby, turned me off both games almost completely. I ended up on the school tennis team, because it was the one sport that I didn't feel pressured to be involved in.
