Nice straw man you have put together. If you feel that you must observe the seventh day Sabbath by all means do it, I never said otherwise.
But Jesus is my Passover lamb. I don't have to offer a lamb every year.
1 Corinthians 5:6-7
(6) Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
(7) Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
Also, Jesus is my Sabbath rest,
Matthew 11:28-30
(28) Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
(29) Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
(30) For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Shabbat means rest!
Nothing strawman about my post and it is in response to your post showing that the Sabbath is part of God’s covenant promise that was made to Israel, that both Jews and Gentiles are part of, if in Christ per Gal 3:26-28. Your whole post was about the Sabbath is only made to Israel, but as shown- all of God’s law is given through His Spirit written in the hearts and minds of God’s people made to Israel. You changed the argument instead of addressing that.
The Sabbath commandment has nothing to do with sacrificing lambs. Here is the scripture for your reference and you will find not one mention of any sacrificial lambs or food offerings.
Exodus 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day
is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.
In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who
is within your gates. 11 For
in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that
is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
The Sabbath is about communion with God on His holy day as also as also shown in Isaiah 58:13. God wants us to keep holy the same day that is holy to Him because we are made in His image and are to follow Him. The Sabbath is part of the Ten Commandments Exodus 34:28 and breaking one of these commandments is like breaking them all James 2:10-12
There is no scripture that says Jesus is the Sabbath and we can now break the 4th commandment and the scripture you quoted certainly does not say that. God said the seventh day is the Sabbath Exodus 20:10, and that is the only day we are commanded to rest from our work and keep holy. If everyday was God’s holy day of rest we would all starve because no work can be done on the Sabbath- God said six days we are to do all thy work and labors Exodus 20:9, but the seventh day is God’s holy day and we are to rest from our work on the seventh day so we can keep it holy doing the ways of the Lord and not our ways so no secular work. Isaiah 58:13
Jesus kept the commandments including the Sabbath and was in the Temple reading the Word of God on the Sabbath as our example to follow. We are told to follow the Lamb and keep the commandments of God 1 John 5:3, Revelation 14:15, John 14:15, which of course includes the Sabbath commandment that God deems as My commandments right in the Ten.i.e God’s commandment. Exodus 20:6
