The Big Bang theory - right!!!

How can anyone believe the Big Bang Theory when you look at all the delicate, beautiful, loving way that we and all things that grow are made straight from the Master's Hand.

God's
accuracy may be observed in the hatching of
eggs.

For example:
-the eggs of the potato bug hatch in 7 days;
-those of the canary in 14 days;
-those of the barnyard hen in 21
days;
-The eggs of ducks and geese hatch in 28 days;
-those of the mallard in 35 days;
-The eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42
days.
(Notice, they are all divisible by
seven,
the number of days in a week!)

The lives of each of you may be ordered by the Lord in a
beautiful way for His glory, if you will only entrust Him
with your life. If you try to regulate your own life,
it will only be a mess and a failure. Only the One Who
made the brain and the heart can successfully guide them to
a profitable end.

God's wisdom is seen in the making of an
elephant.. The four legs of this great beast all bend
forward in the same direction. No other quadruped is
so made. God planned that this animal would have a
huge body, too large to live on two legs. For this
reason He gave it four fulcrums so that it can rise from the
ground easily.

The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs
first. A cow rises from the ground with its two hind
legs first. How wise the Lord is in all His works of
creation!

God's wisdom is revealed in His arrangement of sections
and segments, as well as in the number of
grains.

-Each watermelon has an even number of strips on the
rind.
-Each orange has an even number of segments.
-Each ear of corn has an even number of rows.
-Each stalk of wheat has an even number of
grains.
-Every bunch of bananas has on its lowest row an even
number of bananas, and each row decreases by one, so that
one row has an even number and the next row an odd
number.

-The waves of the sea roll in on shore twenty-six to the
minute in all kinds of weather.

All grains are found in even numbers on the stalks, and the
Lord specified thirty fold, sixty fold, and a hundredfold -
all even numbers.

God has caused the flowers to blossom at certain specified
times during the day, so that Linnaeus, the great botanist,
once said that if he had a conservatory containing the right
kind of soil, moisture and temperature, he could tell the
time of day or night by the flowers that were open and those
that were closed!

Thus the Lord in His wonderful grace can arrange the life
that is entrusted to His care in such a way that it will
carry out His purposes and plans, and will be fragrant with
His presence.

Only the God-planned safe life is successful.
Only the life given over to the care of the Lord is
fulfilled.

I'm not sure how the rest of the post relates to the big bang theory. God's creation certainly is amazing though!

I believe in the big bang theory because red shift shows that every galaxy is travelling away from us at a speed that is proportional to its distance, reversing the process back puts everything at one spot. That agrees with equations from Einstein's theory of relativity which predict what is known as a singularity at that point. The cosmic microwave background radiation is also explained by the universe expanding from a single, extremely hot, point.

If the universe was chaotic (the notion of course being absurd, because we define "order" by the universe, or by a man's preferential assumption of it, which changes from man to man), would that mean that there is no God?

I watched a really interesting documentary on this the other week, and it showed how things could form out of a big bang even planets.

Wish I could remember the name though. I will say though I find evolution to be more compatible with a belief in God than creation science

This is a dreamtime story of our aborignes, of the days of dinosaurs and up to the great flood.

No Land of Perfection could have been formed from a big bang or evolution.

THE LAND.OF PERFECTION

Beyond the ledge, upon the boundary line of the Perfect Land, were two cone-shaped crystals that stood about two hundred feet high and about six hundred feet round the base. Round these were coiled two monsters---Biggarroo, the wombat-snake, and Goonnear, the carpet-snake.

Then Biggarroo said, “To me you shall come, for the Great Father Spirit gave me the power to heal, your body, mind, and the soul…Biggarroo told the truth, but Goonnear lied…the sick man walked toward Goonnear. Then his inner soul gave vision, he could see things that really were. He saw the deceitfulness in the wicked, cruel eyes of Goonnear. He turned and walked into the open jaws of Biggarroo, the good physician…he walked along t the monster’s throat…he soon fell into a sound and healthful sleep...he walked further along the monster’s body…he saw a sight that filled him with joy. For upon the white pathway he noticed his mother’s footprints. He was so overjoyed that he wept with gladness. He now knew that she lived within the Spirit Land…he pressed on into the middle of the snake. There he saw others of the human race. Some belonged to his tribe, and others to tribes that were strange to him in the outer world.

He returned to the place where he first fell asleep…He slept soundly…He awoke and walked toward the open mouth of Biggarroo…He saw through the veil of time. And this is what he saw. Impenetrable darkness reigned, but within him a light dimly glowed. A mighty tremor passed over the earth and space. The darkness ripple like water disturbed by a passing wind…He desired to view the past once more…his vision traced the course of the sunbeams as they penetrated into the earth. First the frozen water, like a pavement of solid crystal covering portions of the earth, began to melt and to flow in liquid state. Then the earth staggered and rolled and trembled as if in dreadful agony. Rocks rose and formed mountains, hills, and valleys, and the silvery liquid rolled between as rivers, streams, and lakes…this work was completed.

He slept a long time, 100 years…he saw again that the mist had risen from the ocean, rivers, lakes, and valleys, and had covered the earth like a shroud…then the mist melted away. He looked and was amazed to see that the face of the barren earth had changed and was covered with vegetation that was very beautiful to behold. The air was filled with sweet and reviving fragrance that was shed by flowers of every from and colour. Some of the trees rose to heights of many hundred of feet and their trunks at the ground were from thirty to forty feet thick. Vegetation reigned supreme.

He stood motionless, it seemed for only a day; in reality centuries came and went, passing boundary line of the evermore. The sun was concentrating her rays upon the water within the earth and was bringing forth life in forms most strange to behold. Among these were Moolgewanke (represented by the Aborigines as half man, half fish), the “Bunyip”, Harrimiah, the dark black goanna (a large reptile), Perindi, the striped yellow and brown goanna (another large reptile), Kendi, the frilled lizard (another large reptile with a frilled neck), Uroo, the water-snake (a large amphibian reptile), as well as other beings that are now known to us only in legends (other dinosaurs). Some of these were so large in size as to be beyond imagination, and some were very small. Some walked upon the earth, others waddled like the goannas of today, while others hopped about like kangaroos, and some flew with great bat-like wings. Uroo, the great water serpent, which is greater than all reptiles, returned to the water below the surface of the earth. Uroo could not bear exposure to the light, because his body had no protection against the rays of the sun. He lives today in a subterranean creek a mile long.

Harrimiah, Perindi, Kendi, and others lived for many centuries, and then became extinct. The only evidence we have of their existence is found in bones or casts or impressions on stone.

The earth revolved, and time rolled on. The great monsters of the reptile age died out. Centuries again pass.

Then came a pageant most wonderful to behold the Bird Age, with the emu in the foremost rank, the insects, following, and then the animals, and fishes. Some of these were great size and weight…Biggarroo said to him, “Go now, my child; enter the Land of Perfection”…the birds poured forth their love and gratitude in joyful song. The flowers unfolded their beauty…for centuries he lived in bliss. Then there came a time when a great and mighty storm arose. It raised the water of the ocean with tremendous force and broke down the walls of the Land of Perfection.

I've always thought the big bang was what happened right after God said 'Let there be light'. The whole universe was filled with light at that moment.

It is perhaps the best guess that science can come up with at this time, given the evidence we have to date.

What other choice do we have? The other theory, that the Bible is one hundred percent accurate, even in things of science not understood by those who wrote it down (or even us today)? And then, that certain "Creation Scientists" have deciphered this hidden knowledge, even though it contradicts the bulk of what regular science has discovered up to this time?


Personally, I'm not ready to settle on either side yet. I imagine that God used some of the methods of Evolution we see evident in the fossil record to create life as we know it on this planet. But my faith and my relationship with God do not hang in the balance of whether someone can or cannot prove that God created the world in the way that was described in Genesis.

I thought the big bang theory states that it happened before the creation of the earth, not after. and if God used a big bang to create the world it would not be any less perfect. To be honest, since it was the Holy Spirit who actually performed the action of forming and making the world, i don't expect it to have been done with a lot of mud, a packet of plant seed and a shovel.

Don't throw the word theory out like it means something fanciful or conjecture. Some "theories" are quite important and either fully or nearly fully describe what is observed (ie gravitation or relativity).

If anyone is bothered, i do think some of the best commentaries and thoughts on the creation story in Genesis was by Augustine in his book confessions who lived loooooong before the evolution/creation debate, 5th century if my memory serves me right.
