  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It is “useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”
(2 Tim. 3:16-17)

“Do not merely listen to the word; and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says” (James 1:22).

All of the Bible leads to Christ (Luke 24:44-49).

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12).

Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105).

Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Thy word (Psalm 119:67).

But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'" (Matthew 4:3-4).

You've misunderstood what the bible is saying.

How so...? Is not the purpose of the bible to tell us about our Savoir Jesus Christ and isn't Jesus Christ the only one who can bring you life after death.

If I missed something please elaborate! How am I to grow if you tell me I misunderstood and do not instruct me on how?

Ebia, if you are referring to leaving the Earth and Jesus setting up his Kingdom on Earth...you must take into context that Jesus makes a new Heaven and a NEW Earth why would Jesus need to make a new Earth because the old one will pass away my friend.

We just so happen to be in the one that will pass away and Jesus says all things in the earth will pass away that includes non believers so, the bible instructs us to trust in the LORD before leaving this old earth that will pass away.

The new heavens and new earth is this one remade - that's what resurrection is all about. God doesn't give up on his creation, he puts it to rights.

Your Kingdom come.... on earth as it is in heaven.

This.

We should recall the words of Genesis 1:31 as well,

"God looked at everything he had made, and he found it very good. Evening came, and morning followed--the sixth day."

And if that isn't enough for some people, St. Paul writes in Romans 8,

"For creation awaits with eager expectation the revelation of the children of God; for creation was made subject to futility, not of its own accord but because of the one who subjected it, in hope that creation itself would be set free from slavery to corruption and share in the glorious freedom of the children of God. We know that all creation is groaning in labor pains even until now; and not only that, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, we also groan within ourselves as we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies." - Romans 8:19-23

This world is God's good creation, created and purposed in Christ Jesus through Whom all things were made and for whom were all things made; which is being restored and ultimately glorified in Christ, the Word who became flesh. Who put to death Death itself in the members of His body along with sin and who risen from the dead bestows life to God's creation restoring to us what was lost in Adam and bringing out in God's good time all that God has eternally purposed for all things in His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. The dead will rise, God will make all things new. The dirt under our feet is destined for glory in Christ.

I agree with the resurrection/restoration of the Earth and Heavens just as we are to put off the old ways and walk in our new life when we are reborn... but I think you misunderstood me.

I was simply referring to when you die...

Before you die, if you have accepted Christ and know his word and promote his word...you will be rewarded in heaven. You will leave the Earth and not have any recollection of it or the people who are on the Earth at the time of your death.

Are we immediately resurrected to the new heaven and the new Earth?

Paul says to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD...I believe that we will be in Heaven with the LORD when we die and then when God establishes his kingdom on Earth we will be in the New Earth with Christ.

Also, could you give me your thoughts on the battle of Armageddon and the saints coming down with Jesus to battle. We are called saints. Will we battle with Jesus if we die at this time? This battle is said to take place in an actual place on this Earth the valley of Megiddo?

I appreciate your insight.
God Bless

The focus of the OT is the here and now, with some promise of the future. The focus of the NT is the here and now and the future resurrection.

The problem with your little acronym is it portrays the bible as being concerned with preparing us for that one bit that it gives almost no space to whatsoever - the bit between death and resurrection.

So does Jesus command the earth and the sea to give up the bodies here and now or after he remakes the Earth...Also you never address by question? Are we immediately resurrected when we die? Your point of view has fallacies and is contradicting...We all will receive new bodies which is the resurrected body some are resurrected into life some into death...Could you explain John 5:28, 29 because thats where I got this information from. All that are dead today there bodies are still on this Earth as far as I know.
Also, explain to me what Rev 20:13 means? which takes place before the new heavens and new earth are made. So, where do our spirit go when we die, if to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD? Since you are the expert on the topic
:)

And my little acronym is just an acronym to bring a person peace in light of an evil situation which corrupts this earth. The fact of the matter is not this Earth it is Jesus...You are getting wound up over things that are irrelevant...as am I. Just forget about answering the things above...I apologize if I offended you. I am just shedding light on things I believe to be true based on my experiences.

I didn't say that there is not a period of time between death now and resurrection which lies firmly in the future. What I said is that the bible is remarkably disinterested in that bit.

Oh...ok, I understand now...Please read the message I sent you...It sheds light on why I had such a rebuttal.

Thanks for your insight...I like to hear all prespectives concerning the LORD's word.
