  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have to agree with SK. Seeing the world through your child's eyes is fantastic. Childhood, your own child's childhood zips by SO fast. I remember telling myself at different times to BE AWARE of those moments.

My kids are 17 and 19 now. I look at them, as big as they are, and it's hard to remember when they were small. My husband ran across an old videotape of the kids when they were toddlers. He and I just sat in front of the TV, scarcely breathing, just WATCHING those babies again.

My son was eating a pickle, sitting in the high chair. It was amazing.

Peace be with you,
~VOW

Oh VOW, how precious are those tapes anyway?? That's one of my biggest regrets is that we don't have a video recorder, I'm losing all these years forever. **sigh**

I also agree with Dew... my son's laughter is what makes be breathe!!

Watching the discoveries take place, as they begin to make connections with the world around tham. Seeing my school-age son's looks as he discovers the truth behind a fact that we as adults take for granted, like the formation of clouds, or the usage of basic mathematical rules (ie. the 9-rule).

just one thing....nope can't do it

1) watching them learn new things that you took for granted years ago
2) real laughter, remember those bellylaughs we had as kids, you can tell it's genuine enjoyment.
3) teaching them things (see lawnmowing shots at Pixs, meet the fam in member photos)
4) kids show us how unlogical our logic can be. "get out of the pool it's raining"
5) kids show us how silly our language is. "funer" no more fun, "more great" no greater
6) the questions " why was daddy on top.....in your bedroom last night"
7) the amazing miracle, watching the birth of you child.

for starters
