  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yep, love them :D Always have, always will...my husband bought me Love for Christmas last year, and we were actually able to go to Las Vegas last October and see the show! It was soooo good!!! (This is how good it was: we were there with our mothers, who are not fans by any means, and they've both commented that they'd like to go back and see it again, lol)

Shalom,

First I must Quote 2 Cor. 11:26!!

Guys did you know that the beatles followed some of the teachings of Aleister Crowley one of the pioneers of the satanic Church and the inspiration behind the satanic bible.

Also when you look more closely at the album cover of "Sergent Pepper" at the top left hand side you will see a bald headed man who is the same man Aleister Crowley. The album cover contained pictures of all of their heroes.

Yours in Christ,

Victor

Yes, but should that affect how people view their amazing talents in creating music? Should we listen to music because it's created by self-proclaimed Christians? That's just as bad as disliking music for not being Christian. What we should strive for are Christian musicians who can create music that can actually match the top artists of the secular world. I find it sad that this isn't the case, although their are some Christian bands that have good songwriting talent and create good music, many don't have ability to play decent music. I admire their desire to honor God but wouldn't it serve the Christian purpose better to have Christian bands that were liked by non-Christians as well as Christians, just as secular music can be enjoyed by both? Christian music should step out from under the Christian music genre, and create music that is actually decent and can appeal to everyone, not just those who listen to Christian music for the sole sake that it is made by Christians.

Those who say they hate the Beatles are obviously lying...

I have lots of love for them, and I have listened to the Love album. I like it...which is kinda strange as I'm usually more of a purist.

check out fwm.org.uk, very interesting piece on the beatles

I choose to look at music on a song by song basis. There are a few "christian" songs I won't listen to. Christians do not have the market on "good" music any more than secular has the market on "evil" music.

BTW I choose my movies the same way.
