  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

On a lighter note of my past posts in this threa, my mom is a huge Beatles fan. She always tells me that when my grandpa would go to work at night, grandma would let her play the Beatles records, but not when grandpa was home -cause of the whole better then Jesus thing. lol

all that ever really plays at my house is christian music, and the Beatles is what led me into great secular music. I love their later stuff more than some of the earlier stuff, and i don't really have a favorite song or an album. whenever a Beatles song comes on it makes me happy, and few others can do that for me.
yeah
i like the beatles a lot and i know more about them than my favorite band (pink floyd)

The Beatles are AWESOME!!!!!

---I had never really gave a good listen to their music until a week ago when my friends and I went to a laser light show at the local university. It was called "Laser Beatles" and they played a lot of their best songs like "Nowhere Man," "I Wanna Hold Your Hand," and "Revolution." Ever since then, I've been ADDICTED!

I dislike most of their early stuff, but always loved their later stuff especially Rubber Soul and Let It Be. Being the lazy person I am, I never got around to listening to Sgt. Peppers all the way through until a few days ago, and that album, usually listed in the Top 5, is truly NOT overrated.

The Beatles really were a very original, trailblazing band, and I think that we, looking back 35 or 40 years later, are so entrenched in music that they influenced so thoroughly that we can hardly see their originality and their genius. But it's there nonetheless. They do deserve all the praise they get.

I absolutely love the Beatles! I have like 5 of their DVD's and almost all their CDs and like 3 of their shirts! LOL. I'm probably one of the biggest fans! I miss them....
Paul will be playing at one of the football games, the Superbowl I believe...Can't wait, him and John Lennon were great!

Metalblade I know it's your opinion--but what about "Hey Jude" or "Get Back" or "Something" These songs were made near the end of the Beatles carrer. I think that singlehandely these songs are masterpieces- something you don't hear every day-- and They definitely do not suck! Sorry-- I defend the Fab Four!

I personally like all stages of the Beatles carrer. I love "Day Tripper" and "Revolution"-- these are awesome just down and dirty rock songs...

I also think for ballads-- I love "Hey Jude" and "Yesterday"

But its hard for me to pen a favorite Beatles song--they are all good. And all serve an inspiration for what I write. :)

Have you heard the Beatle song, "You know my name (Lokk up the number)" ?
it is very different and one of my fav. songs - not one you will probably, ever hear on the radio.!!

Yeah, that is one weird, quirky song. I have it on one of the compilations where the "album-less" songs were all put together, so people like me could have all of their releases. :)

Let's see...Rubber Soul through Let It Be = Rubber Soul, Revolver, The Magical Mystery Tour, Revolver, the White Album (2 discs), Sgt. Pepper's, Abbey Road, Let it Be, and One (I bought that too). I count 10 discs from 9 albums. :p

   I apparently can't read. I didnt see the "THROUGH".
Oh well then... good purchases!!
Now that I no longer live with my parents, I need to buy all the beatles albums. See when you have a father who owns everything in their collection, there was no need for me to buy them. But now that I am on my own.... I miss his collection. :sigh:

Do you really have to pay $30 for a cd in Canada?
Not usually no. But that seems to be the going price for an average Beatles cd (something like Rubber Soul or St Peppers etc).
An average NEW cd price is around $15. Not too bad I Guess.
