  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I think the tradition was for the entire community to get together, and actually build a barn for a particular family... Refered to as a "Barnraising".

It was a great time of fellowship...

What does that have to do with Baptists?

Remember, this is the Baptist/Anabaptist forum!

Since nobody else had started a "pub thread" and since pubs didn't seem very Baptist or Anabaptist to me, I chose a fellowship tradition that was distinctively Anabaptist. Hope you Baptists don't mind.

Y'all come!

does anyone have a recipe for homemade ice cream? We dont have very much of that in wyoming.

Sure!

Do you have an ice cream freezer? What size?

Basic homemade ice cream contains cream, milk, eggs, sugar and vanilla. The number of eggs, proportions of milk and cream, and amount of sugar are really a matter of taste. I made a very rich ice cream a couple of weeks ago with 1/2 gal. manufacturing cream, about 1 1/2 c. raw sugar, 4 eggs, about 2 T. vanilla, and milk to fill the freezer to the fill line (not much!). We served it with brownies, 2 or 3 kinds of berries and chocolate syrup.

Usually I don't make my ice cream that rich. Using a can of sweetened condensed milk and a couple of bananas, you don't have to add any additional sugar, and can make a good ice cream with a quart of half-and-half and regular milk to fill your bucket. I often put fruit in the ice cream.

Just a few ideas to get you started. Give us a taste when you try it!
