One thing I always enjoyed when attending a Baptist church was the pot lucks. Yum Yum!!

Do Quakers and Mennonites do pot lucks, too?

(oh oh, now I'm hungry for potatoe salad! :yum: )

Sure we do! Some congregations even have a common meal before or after each weekly service (or one of their weekly services). I cook for one of these. Still have to figure out the menu and shop for this Sunday night. I'm having a hard time deciding because a lot of our members will be attending a picnic earlier in the afternoon, so I'm not sure what to serve at 5 pm. I'm leaning toward soup.

Sometimes when I need to be away for the weekend or need a break I just announce, "Next week is a potluck." :D

Hmmm.... Maybe soup for supper and shoo-fly pie after the service.... What do you think?

Hehe, i've a good joke sent by my sister, thought i'd put it here since posting is slow:

Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had set their new wives straight on their duties.

The first man had married a woman from Ontario and bragged that he had told his wife she was going to do all the dishes and house cleaning that needed done at their house. He said that it took a couple days but on the third day he came home to a clean house and the dishes were all washed and put away.

The second man had married a woman from Quebec. He bragged that he had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes, and cooking. He told them that the first day he didn't see any results, but the next day it was better. By the third day, his house was clean, the dishes were done, and he had a huge dinner on the table.

The third man had married a New Brunswick girl. He boasted that he told her the house was to be cleaned, dishes washed, the cooking done and laundry washed every day. And this was all her responsibility. He said the first day he didn't see anything and the second day he didn't see anything but by the third day some of the swelling had gone down so he could see a little out of his left eye.
