Without Christianity, Atheists wouldn't even exist .....
They are there to test Christian belief, to make it strong

I have seen, non-believers convincing believers, that their faith in God is valid
Think about it ..... ?

If you actually pay attention to what people say who leave Christianity or the church, it is usually the fact that they can no longer believe what other Christians and or the church, is spewing and has nothing to do with non believers.

Christianity is the one religion atheists aim at.

You clearly haven't seen those atheists who are complaining about Islam lately. They can be extremely critical. Atheists do criticize religions other than Christianity.

It is what other religions aim at.

Not exclusively.

But nice job trying to downplay it to your ordinary, day to day life.

Why, thank you!

You came here to be against Christianity

Eh, no. I came here to challenge stigmas that atheists have in American society. While I often debate Christian doctrine, that's never been my main purpose for being here. I'm not here to be "against" something. I have constructive purposes.

I don't labor under any delusion that all of you came here out of some interest in Christianity.

That's a false dichotomy.

The coming of Christ is the most controversial event in human history.

I'm not sure how you are measuring that. Why is that more controversial than, say, the archangel Gabriel telling Muhammad the truth of Allah?

It seems common at least for Western religions to be critical of atheism, so that is very controversial as well, even if it is not precisely an "event".

Christ is the most relevant figure in history. Mohammad borrowed from his coming, and created the second largest religion in the world. All other religions became obsolete in 0 AD.

Christianity borrows heavily from Judaism, but I don't see how "borrowing" anything makes much of a difference when it comes to relevance.

Atheists dismiss him in favor of things which are irrelevant. Dawkins is irrelevant, Hawking is irrelevant, science is irrelevant- it's all only serves as a distraction and a blindfold.

Irrelevant to your worldview and its values, perhaps.

The suggestion that extremely complex and self conscious life emerged from decreasingly primitive life forms the further back you go, until arriving at no life at all, requires more faith and gullibility than a theory of mind creating mind.

But regardless of what we may believe about Jesus resurrecting himself from the dead, today we can trust the Father as he trusted the Father and experience God for ourselves.

Without Christianity, Atheists wouldn't even exist .....

Without an uncreated godless natural universe, Christians wouldn't exist. Go figure.

They are there to test Christian belief, to make it strong

I'm just here with the hope that Christians will think a little more rationally, even if all that means is that they become more rational Christians. If you call that making Christians stronger, that's fine.

I have seen, non-believers convincing believers, that their faith in God is valid
Think about it ..... ?

I've seen the opposite. Think about that?

I love this post!

I remember back when they used to put together posts like this and just slap "from a member of Christian Forums" as if the entire site would just be filled with posts like this.

You can imagine my disappointment when I got to the site and realized most people were having some level of reasonable conversation. Still, it's when posts like yours show up that I'm glad I've stayed here as long as I have.

Don't ever change eartheart.

Attending Church on a Sunday, does not make a person, a Christian

We Christians, are God's Church and we can pray (chat) with God
AT ANY TIME....
I give in, to your mention of Christians 'leaving the church'
and say: that I too
have left regular-attendance at a Methodist Church; because, the Elders, of that 'church'
had political arguments (in public) about it's bible teachings
AND, left my (new) Church of England, because of, a personal trauma
where, I could no-longer believe God could exist
or else, He (The Good Shepherd)
would have protected me, from that experience

But then, He provided me with 'understanding' ~my past has been a 'lesson'
He enabled me to forgive
I cannot forget, but, I can live in 'today' and can even shine this light (for others)
God created our beginning AND, he knew our outcome, from the beginning

Nothing to do with the point, which is why Christians leave their faith.

If you really want to know, you should listen to what they have to say, not pretend to be able to read their minds.

Of-course it has everything to do with what you are asking

We are all, individuals AND, have been given FREE CHOICE
Plainly you have chosen 'your way'
My choice, is not to share your path << got it now ?

And if you want to know how people utilized this free choice to leave their faith, ask them.

Oh, I see (I think)
I thought I was expressing opinion, just as you guys appear to be doing

Maybe, it is a habit you guys have adopted

eg: entering a Christian Forums ~for (perhaps) the purpose of
denigrating Christians and their beliefs

I recall 'times', when this site would Permaban such visitors
but Political Niceness prevails, and such people are not to be discriminated-against
I say, that Reverse-Discrimination, has become a possibility
~what is good for the goose, has to be good for the gander also (?)

alt. If I respect your "right", to your non-belief, I should expect you, to respect my beliefs

I will hold the door for you ~if you wish to leave ?

You seem awfully bitter about the fact that atheists are on C.F. Did you have a bad experience with one or something?

I sympathize with folks your age Dave. You probably remember a time when you could say whatever you liked about christianity without your statements being challenged in any way. It's probably a disturbing trend at your age to see this is not the case anymore.

We have communication problems ?

I did not say that you had...

Had I thought that you had.... I would have pressed the alarm bell
and let Staff deal with the matter
You can read the site rules as well as anyone here

They, spell-out member behaviour, very precisely

Whenever did sarcasm become a means to polite interaction

AND, what has my age to do with the content above
this is NOT an age-related forum

Maybe, it's a matter of 'immature superiority complex'
Maybe you are hopeful of provoking 'a heated exchange'
LOL
If so, you'd best give-it-up ~you won't achieve one
