  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Pleas show how the commandment of Christ to love one another invalidates the ten commandments. Please show how the the command to love God and one another has nothing to do with the ten commandments.

The Bible tells us that God does not change. If He wrote the ten commandments on stone and placed them inside the ark of the covenant then that means they are permanent. Nothin about Christ's death fulfilled the ten commandments. They are very much still in effect.

God Bless

Ahem, Ahem.....I dont wear a dresses and skirts:o I am 100% beef, no make up, no lipstick, no added parts:D

But truthfully...we must validate when someone is offended by our remarks. If there is another way for peace, we should take it.

From what I understand the writings of John don't use the word "entole" to mean the law of Moses. Others in the Bible might occasionally, but that won't help us decide what John meant.
God bless! Ricker

Exactly Ricker:thumbsup: , and that's why we should study the context to get an understanding of the subject matter.

1john and 2john both covers in details , only 2 commandments in those whole books. They're are explained from every angle possible.

In 1John, John makes it clear when "the beginning" is, by explaining it, as a time when they seen with their eyes (not the fathers eyes), heard and touched (with their hands).

1John:
The Word of Life
1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—
2the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us—
3that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4And we are writing these things so that our [fn1] joy may be complete.

And So according to his letter, John has promised to "proclaim" and "testify" those thing that He is a witness of. When we read the rest of the letters without motives we can know that what John testifies and proclaims are "Christ commandments". unlike some people using questions, and isolated text to teach other lessons not intended by these books.

Honest questions are answered with text when we approach the books of the bible in with reasonable questions. But those who have motives come in through the back door of these books with questions that are answers by taking certain texts out of context.

In peace and love

 ...Cool, because I wear the pants...(when she lets me).:o

Thanks for the comments on my character, I try to have some fun with life, but not at the expence of hurting people intentionally.

The bible is a double edged sword, it can cut you comming and going.

In love

strawman arguments that some often raise. When we present scripture or commentary, these same questions come up, rather than a reply to our text or comments.

Truth be told, we dont see the ten commandment apart from the rest of the law, so by you repeating it in isolation to the 10, the bible becomes more confusing to you.

We're not ever saying the same thing by the words "law" and "commandments",

After a while we see the motives of some questions which sends us on a wild goose chase.

Did you know that the those under the law are persuing righteousness by keeping the law?

Deu 6:23And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.

Deu 6:24And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as [it is] at this day.

Deu 6:25And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.
