I was happy last week to finally have Chad and Stephanie eliminated but can't believe Nick and Vicki lucked out again. Hopefully they are actually gone this next week between the penalty and the speed bump -- but I'm afraid there will be another flight that the lead teams have to wait 12 hours for, that will allow Nick and Vicki to catch back up.

Nick has redeemed himself from jerk a number of times, but almost all of their footage on Sunday's ep put him right back into that category. Especially when Vicky did most of the work in "their" almost Philimiative "efforts". I really want to root for Vicky, the asthema, like any Race handicap that can't be helped - age, infirmity, Charla (and I mean Mirna, not her dwarfism) - but I just can't. The tats, piercings and staying with Nick tells me this chick has got a lot of issues she needs to work out far beyond the pulminary ones.

TAR is far to long overdue for an all female winning team.

Go Nat and Kat and go Brooke and Claire!

I'm hoping, too, for a female team to win. Seems like this may be the year it may happen with two all girl teams in the final 4, and Nick and Vicky with such a severe handicap going into the last leg. It seemed so appropriate that Phil told them on the map, "I'm sorry to tell you that you are still in the race." It really seemed like Nick was ready to leave -- and I almost wish there was a rule that if you announce, somewhat like that, that you are done that you actually do have to quit the race.

In other news, I saw today that Chad and Stephanie are now married and Stephanie is three months pregnant. While I got frustrated with Chad during the race, I understand they edit their footage to create drama. Chad, also in the article mentions that he realizes that he has issues and that he is working on them, but also that they never go to bed angry. My best wishes to them on their marriage and for the baby.

Go Brooke and Claire!!

I do agree that editing can do a lot.
While what they are actually saying is real, it can be edited to make that statment seem a whole lot worse than the actual context.
And false reactions can also be edited in to make it seem like the other person reacted a lot different than they actually did

You go girls! It's about time.

Congrats to Nat and Kat on their victory, congrats to Claire on her pregnancy and congrats to Brooke for being just a bit more beautiful than the other three women who rocked the top two of this season's fainale!

I didn't like Brooke and Claire at first, but they did grow on me - Claire shrugging off the melon to the puss certainly helped - and they were certainly the most fun team to watch this season, but Nat and Kat were solid and focused and ran the race the way it is raced best - no cow poopie and just did their tasks, paid attention and met Phil on the mat when it mattered.

Great season, but the finale was masterfully edited. I was on the edge of my seat rooting for Nat and Kat until they actually checked in.

And who's excited about the All Stars/Redemption season starting in Feb.???

Was a good finale overall. In some ways I want to complain about the lack of a tough roadblock but the questions on the one clue definitely stopped Jill and Thomas. It also shows how strong of teams both Nat and Kat as well as Claire and Brook were that they had little problem picking out the people on the mat in the right order. It would be nice to know how close the finish was between the final teams. I'm definitely excited that a female team won, yay!

Next season looks like it could be interesting. Looking at the promo, seems they showed about 20 teams as possible "all-stars". It will be interesting to know which eleven will be racing. Seems we can eliminate Brook and Claire and Chad and Stephanie as not being teams due to pregnancy. It does sound like it will be a great group of racers and I'm looking forward to seeing the race in HD. Now, if I can just survive until Feb 20! :( Oh, and the application is up on the Amazing Race site to join the cast of AR 19. :D

Oh, as for the teams in Amazing Race 18 (I'm not sure how official this list is):
Jet and Cord
Jamie and Cara
Ron and Christina
Kynt and Vyxsin
Margie and Luke
Kisha and Jen
Amanda and Kris
Gary and Mallory
Zev and Justin
Flight Time and Big Easy
Mel and Mike

I found the list here, it looks like a fun group.

I don't believe it is official, though a couple of sites imply this has been confirmed by CBS (though never explicitly state that). I do believe that these are likely the cast, though it could be off by a team or two. I think the list is based off of people at the airports that watch for TAR teams getting tickets and waiting for flights at airports; they've had a very strong track record of getting the teams right for past races.

As for the CBS promo last night, after the show, those were all "possible" teams. We know a couple of them, like Brook and Claire and Chad and Stephanie are not part of next seasons cast as they have stated they aren't. All the teams on the list I provided were shown during the promo.

I started a new thread "Amazing Race: Unfinished Business" for the new season of the Amazing Race. CBS officially has released the cast for the new season and officially verified it will be in HD (link to press release in new thread), so come check it out and subscribe to the new thread.

These people of course race all over the world for a million dollar prize all while performing ludicrous and physical stunts. The list this season includes two married selfish loudmouth entrepreneurs from California: Jonatha and Victoria. A father and daughter team. A Grandparent's team: John and Mary. A formerly dating team : Adam and Rebecca, an engaged models teams. lol and my personal favorite the pro wrestling team of Lori and Bolo.

Not major news but a couple of TAR weddings. First, for those that remember season 6, Kris and Jon (2nd place) were married last night. Kris tweeted Phil to say "We did it!" and included a picture.

Second, though it was a month ago, Cheyne and Whitney, the winners from season 15 were married about a month ago.
