I think the Asian father and his son are really cute. They're a funny team. It looks like they're going to head into trouble in the next episode though unfortunately.

The tattooed couple need to go. End of story. :preach:

I completely agree with this.

Thank God for non-elim legs!!

The teams were so stupid last night. They walked past an entire side of a barn with a clue on it and didn't even see it, LOL. Then they drew chalk outlines around 8 little kids! :D

Did anyone else want to smack Nick for the way he was ranting and raving at his girlfriend?

When they kept showing the side of the barn as teams were leaving, I was sure at least one of them was going to have a  moment.

Me too! At one point, one of them was walking backward to talk to her partner and she was staring right at the barn!

You can't get to northern Norway from the south so you have to take a train through Sweden and then come down. I probably passed somewhere near where they shot Sundays show back in '84 as we travelled from Stockholm to Narvik, Norway.

Boy was I disappointed that last night was a non-elim leg.

I largely was too. Then again, I was impressed by Nick and how he vowed, after the last time he got upset at Vicki, that he would not take out his frustrations on her again. I was impressed with how he kept his emotions in check and kept working with Vicki to finish.

By contrast, Chad and Stephanie have annoyed me the last couple of weeks. He has become so obnoxious towards Stephanie when things start to go badly. Stephanie impressed me this week by stepping up and forcing Chad to focus. While Chad seemed somewhat contrite afterward, saying that it had taught him to give up control to Stephanie, I don't think he has learned the lesson Nick did. I expect that the next time things go badly he'll get upset at Stephanie again. At this point, they are the couple that annoy me the most.

Also, my husband (who doesn't care for the show) heard Brook and thought I was watching a cartoon. And, if I weren't watching (with Brook's high voice and dramatic personality) I can see where I might think that. ;)

Chad has annoyed me since the beginning.

I watched two episode Sunday. Went trick-or-treating the previous week and did not have a chance to watch until just before this weeks show. Sometimes I forget that I'm watching a recorded show. A commercial for Linda McMahon came on and I was like "Enough already, the election's over!"

Then I was like !

Nick annoyed me again with how he treated Vicki, I was ready for them to go. I was disappointed they never had to do a speed bump for coming in last in the non-elimination leg. And I'm still rooting for Chad to be eliminated.

I hate seeing the Father and Son go, though it is hard to blame anyone other than Kevin for not reading the instructions clearly. In some ways it is good as Michael seemed to have so much trouble physically; I can't help but think on some level it is a relief for them. Plus, I think they will fit in well with the teams at the Elimination Station.

I'm also starting to wonder if this might be the year an all-woman team can win it all. While it is still early, both the Doctors (Nat and Kat) and the shopping channel pair (Brook and Clair) seem like very competitive teams.

It's funny how many teams have been eliminated over the years because they didn't read their clue properly. Easy to do in the heat of the moment, no doubt, but it seems like the most important part of the race is doing exactly what the clue says, so reading it carefully should be priority #1.

If I remember right, I recall Michael asking Kevin if he actually read the whole clue.

It was interesting watching the Elimination Station video. Michael was very glad to be done as he felt he was physically worn out. Kevin, of course, was upset because he thought they could win.

And the volleyball pair were upset to see Micheal and Kevin because they don't want one of the other girl teams to win. Since they couldn't be the first female team winner, they don't want the other females to win either.

What was up with no speed bump? Maybe it was just so lame (sit on this ice) that they decided to not show it?

Did a quick search through Google and found this from The Reality Junkies: "This was due to an error with the sheet music challenge, where they were actually correct much earlier than given credit for, so they were not forced to do the speed bump."

Seems like it would help the integrity of the show if they would have mentioned that at some point.

Naturally since I have really started disliking Brad and Stephanie, this suddenly was Brad and Stephanie week. My only comment on the engagement (I know some people think it is romantic that he did it on the race, others think it showed a lack of class) is, based on the race, why did Stephanie say yes? All I can think is that reality shows like this are heavily edited to make some people look bad (imagine your life caught on film but having them show only your worst reactions) but I have to wonder about how Brad treats her.

Was sad to see Gary and Mallory go (didn't know that I'd like them, with another beauty queen) but have enjoyed them and would have liked to see them continue on. In the meantime, I still keep wanting Brad and Stephanie and Nick and Vicki to go (Nick, to me, puts the "ugly" in "ugly American").

Since we are down to the final five, Gary and Mallory do not go to the elimination station but go with the race to the end city -- and apparently it sparked a slight controversy because, when they called the Elimination house, Kevin and Michael weren't there (leading some to wonder if they had left for some reason). Explanation I've seen for this is that the leg Gary and Mallory lost completed before Michael and Kevin made it to the Elimination House (it is a long trip from St. Petersburg to Mexico); so those in the Elimination house learned the results from the last leg prior to hearing about the results of the previous leg.

Last, anyone have thoughts about the double U-turn? Not sure that I like it and it explains why we haven't seen a U-turn yet this race.
