That really dissapointed me when she did that. Theres a lot better ways of trying to get them to put you at the top of the list than lying! Try just asking... Someone else did!
I refer you to the case of "Liar, liar, pants on fire".

Last night's episode was great! It really moved fast. This is when the racers start hitting their stride. I'd be dead after a 20 hour bus ride followed by an 8,000 mile plane trip (but I still wouldn't mind trying).

Bob and Joyce: Aww, I liked them. They had super bad luck trying to get their flight to Russia. But even when they knew they were behind, they kept plugging away. I loved their comments about each other at the end. Maybe Bob will propose to her in Sequesterville.

Charla and Mirna: Mirna must go away. Now. If I were Colin at the bus terminal I would have smacked her. He had every right to yap at her for butting in on his conversation. Man, she is really annoying me now. Why couldn't Bob & Joyce have gotten their lucky airplane break? And I am tired of her always telling Charla to hurry. Does she think Charla is just leisurely strolling along? But she definitely had the best line of the night, when they were doing the caviar roadblock: "Just shove it, Charla." Second best line of the night, from Phil - "You're going to hug me? Oh." Keep your hands off Phil, Mirna!

Pizza Boys: They didn't irritate me last night. Looks like the one's bad knee is going to get them in trouble next week.

Brandon and Nicole: I'm really starting to like them. They are playing a smart game. When they broke away from their pack of four teams to find a better flight it paid off. But that move may hurt them in the future if they run in to a situation where another team can get tickets for them - that team may not want to help them. Anyway, I understood Brandon's position in not wanting to do the vodka shot. But do you think God would have minded if they drank it? I really don't think so. Brandon earned major points for me when he was so supportive of Nicole during the caviar incident. He never yelled at her or belittled her, or even seemed frustrated. Can't say the same for Colin.

Colin and Christie: I thought this team may annoy me, but so far so good. Colin has minor episodes of being a jerk, especially to Christie, but he's under stress. He didn't totally flip out on Christie when she couldn't eat the caviar, but I could see the frustration brewing. He was cute when they checked in, all teary eyed.

Twins: Huh? Barely saw them. It was funny when they got to Phil, the one was all excited while the other caviar-eating one just looked like she was trying very hard not to throw up on the mat.

Bowling Moms: Still like them - but they better start hurrying a little more.

Chip and Kim: Yay! First place! Chip was the man at the roadblock. I was really worried that they'd pick Kim to do it, but when Chip said he would I just knew he'd snarf it all down. I'm pulling for these guys.

Oh dear, I guess this post is long enough now....did I ever say how much I liked this show?

Sorry to see the inter-net dating couple leave. They shouldn't have come in last.

Best line of the show Bowling Moms: "We beat the twins in an eating contest, imagine that" I like them. I also think it's a good testimony that the other teams said that they play hard, and they play fair. Hope they do well next game too.

hehe I also thought that line was good.

I was sad to see the online couple go also...but the end was so sweet...

I've only seen a few shows but I think that the teams are learning to work together more and are drawing closer to eachother. I have seen earlier ones where by the end they want to rip eachother's heads off but this show they were all really sweet and caring to eachother...I think so at least.

Don't forget that the show repeats on Saturdays at 8 E/7 C.

Last nights show was superlative, save Bob and Joyce. The long travel times were editied excellently. The suspense over elimination lasted up 'til nearly the end of the show.

Bob and Joyce - I had a few beers in me and shed a few tears for them as they took the sleigh ride and checked in. They were very sweet, and they were just as sweet on The Early Show today, but no mention of a proposal.

Brandon and Nichole - I hate Brandon, but only for his hair. Sheesh! Trim that mop will you man! There was a bit of incongruity about their "committment" and not drinking the demon vodka, contrasted with how they've stuck it to a few of their competetors in order to win a million bucks. If you're really worried about witnessing, go on a mission trip.

Bowling Moms, Brothers, Evil Twins - Which of these three is not like the others? The irony each week of showing the twins doing something athletic, and then consistently being near the back of the pack - behind the middle aged, heavy set folks is priceless.

Mirna and Mini-Mirna - Bah, I still like them. Charla is kicking you know what. Mirna makes me crazy with her "Run Charla," her Phil humping and well everything else about them, but they do take their little moments to appreciate where they are and what they're doing, so I have to give them credit for that.

Chip and Kim - You go! Good for them.

Did anyone else notice during the hockey, that the Russians smacked it good and aimed the pucks at Brandon, while they seemed to give Bob and Joyce a break. Charla basically filled up the goal, so I didn't notice a different with her and Mirna.

I can't wait for next week, but luckily I can watch the rerun on Saturday.

Wow. Extremely good evaluation! I couldn't have worded it better.

Yeah, I did notice the Brandon thing. I was glad that he was the one assailed, though. Nichole was at least logical enough to want to take the vodka.

It must have been Mirna's comment that she would kiss them if they took it easy on them with the slapshots. She's turning in to a little hussy.

As someone commented in my reps... (Thank you by the way.) Chip beat Linda (Bowling Moms team) in the caviar eating task. But I have to say I think Linda did just as well as Chip. She had the same attitude of just getting it done. I think that's why some people do better than others over all, and not just in this game but in life. They have the attitude that they're not going to quit no matter what. While others say "I can't", lay down on the floor, and/or break down and cry.

And I have to say also that the line from Mirna to Charla "Just shove it" made my husband and I look at each other and say:" I would have said: "You shove it" This show is so much fun to poke fun at isn't it? People are amusing to watch.

Ha! Yup, totally agree. I don't want any of the above teams to win, period. I thought that was low of the Bowling Moms to purposely cause the Father/Daughter to lose. I was done with them after that. I don't care if that's how you "play the game" - I would never want to win a competition by LYING to people. Especially on camera for your family & friends to see! Same with Charla lying about needing a doctor....ugh. That was pathetic.

This is the first time I've ever watched The Amazing Race. I stumbled upon last week's episode & got hooked. Yes, I would have had NO problem with the chocolate.

Apart from the three teams above, I really like ALL the other couples left, so I can't pinpoint who exactly I am actually rooting for yet.

Hi SuzQ!

You can have faith in the Bowling Moms again. They did nothing of the sort to Marsha & Jim, it was all a fabrication by Marsha. From Reality News Online:

You can read the rest of the interview here. And I don't agree with Marsha's comments about Brandon/Nicole snubbing them by not giving them their tickets. Airlines do not let you use other people's tickets.

I've been doing some drink..er.. thinking and I'm going to retract my criticism of Brandon for not taking the shot. Honestly, the more I think about it, his decision was probably for the best, not just for religious reasons, but for the fact that neither her nor Nichole are drinkers.

I drink beer every day, but even I don't like hard liquor and vodka is one of the hardest out there. I'd be willing to bet that Nichole has imbibed perviously, but Brandon seems like he's never even smelled, much less tasted a distilled beverage. Since part of the mission was being able to take the shot while balancing it on the sabre, I doubt a choking, sputtering attempt to swill a vodka shot off a sword would have worked.

I could also see, after 10 half drank failed attempts, a drunk for the first time in his life Brandon trying to lead the team and probably winding up in Belarus or Lithuania. And I don't even want to contemplate a biffed Nichole trying to eat all that caviar.

This doesn't change my opinion that while screwing over your fellow contestants, harping about alcohol appears myopic, but I have to give him credit for making a - what appears to me - a logical tactical move.

Back to vodka for a moment, one of my friends is a sub-deacon in his Orthodox Church. I remember when a Bishop from Moscow came to visit his church, and the gift the parish gave him? A bottle of vodka.

Aaaahhhh Mirna, what a lovely person. I just read that she is a lawyer. Some how that doesn't suprise me. If I were Colin, I would have yelled "Objection!!" Maybe then she would have understood. As for telling Charla to hurry up, why didn't she let her ride the baggage cart from the beginning, although it might be an unfair advantage. "Just shove it" Now I know Teresa Heinz watches the show. Hey, maybe Mirna can sue Teresa for stealing her lines!! Later!!
