You are not going to believe this! When I was at the gym today I saw Linda, the Bowling Mom from the race. She actually used an eliptical machine right next to mine. I'm so shy, I wish sometimes I was more outgoing. It would have been nice to talk to her. But I just couldn't. I'm such a dork. It was definately her though. It's so cool to see someone from T.V. in person.

Wisdom, that's awesome! Next time you run in to them, definitely talk! I think if you go on a reality show you have to accept the fact that you're going to have strangers come up and talk to you - it goes with the territory.

Plus, you may have gotten an idea about where the ended up from talking to her....

I met someone from the Amazing Race last week... Loranne... the lady that checked the teams in at terminal 4 (American) in LAX to go to Montevideo...

...She said the producers told her not to "volunteer that UA got there faster"

I believe it, too... this lady has saved my tail MULTIPLE times!

I have been watching to see if the christian couple keep a good testimony and wether or not the dad stays in for a while or not.

Chip and Kim mentioned God helping them at some point, and Mirna has said, "God help us" about a dozen times as well as crossed herself. While Brandon and Nicole are most up front about their Christianity, I don't think they're the only ones for whom it's very important.

I believe Wild's point was more about sincerity. While Brandon and Nicole, and even Chip and Kim have given credit to God during interviews, it seems Mirna only mentions Him when she is in need. I might be wrong, but I don't think you would here Mirna say anything about God otherwise. Just a gut feeling.....

Regarding the comments about faith of the participants: I find that a persons walk shows a lot more about their faith than how much they talk about it. Anyone can learn Christian-eeze. People are easy to fool. You have to watch how people conduct themselves to get even the remotest clue of where their heart is.

I don't think that any of us can tell much from what they show us on that count. It is after all a reality show. And you know they edit those to show what the producers want to show. It's a major manipulation. I don't watch the show thinking that I'm going to get a realistic insight into who these people are. I watch it because I would love to be able to travel, and this way I can see those countries I may never have the opportunity to see. Yeah, it's fun to people watch. It's funny to see how people act under different circumstances. But do I have the delusion that I know what's really going on, or who these people really are? Of course not.

Personally I think the couple that professed that they are Christian are showing the public the contrived stereotypical atributes of what people think that is anyway. I mean come on...they might as well have jumped out of a comic strip. You don't think it's being manipulated to show them in a certain kind of light? Producers have an idea of who these people will be before they even start the thing. It's all ratings, we can't tell if any of them are Christians or not out of a T.V. reality show. To coin an often overused coloquilism "Get Real!"

Wasn't Alison eliminated a week ago?

I think last nights show made me dislike Mirna even more than before. Gag! I'm sorry, but that girl is so rude and obnoxious about everything, it's a little hard to take. And Charla her cousin lying? It was unnecessary and pathetic. They don't have to play the sympathy card. I don't understand why they think they do. Could you believe those brothers didn't know how to change a flat tire? I know how to change a flat tire! And what was with all those people not liking chocolate?! Are they crazy?!

I was sorry to see the Dad and daughter team go. It's sad when the people who don't take advantage of other people, don't complain and have a general good attitude come in last.

yeah, last nights episode was pretty bizarre. I can't believe they had to ask each other who had the sweet tooth to do the chocolate thing! I would have done it in a heartbeat. Charla and Mirna are just annoying...im sorry but thats my opinion. I hope they don't win the entire thing. The Brothers......I kinda felt sorry for them, but they definately should have been eliminated instead of the dad/daughter team (which I was rooting for)

I hated to see Major Dad and his daughter Major B**** eliminated. I really liked Jim for his sticktuitiveness after slicing his knee open. I'd rather anti-Oh Brother or the Evil Twins been eliminated.

Mirna's getting more annoying and her virtual sexual assault of Phil when they check in makes me wince. I'm still rooting for Charla... well, just because. Internet Couple and Bowling Moms have moved up to the top of my root for list.

Yeah. Is it bad that I'm beginning to roll my eyes when she says or does anything that refers to her impressing Phil?

Colin and Christie seem to be the most willingly independent people; they seem to stay away from alliances or forming any type of relationship with the others, which I like. In my opinion, that's what it takes to win a race. Then again, I've never watched Amazing Race before this season, so I don't really know what it takes to win...

Sorry, but better little late with the Alison crack than not at all.

Mirna....Having just raced for 12 hours asking Charla, "How does my hair look" as they get to the checkpoint. And while trying to book the flight, Charla lies about needing a doctor to get move up on the list. Puhleeze.

The brothers whining about eating the candy. Hello, just spit it out!!! Noboby said you have to swallow it!

I'm still pulling for Brandon and Nicole.

Collin and Christie's lack of entangeling alliances should work for them. If you help everyone at some point, but don't tie yourself to another team, you've got an advantage. The trick to winning is being physically fit and being in the top 3 as they head to the final leg. Glad to have you aboard the viewing audience and hopefully you'll join the fan club Eutychus.

Which leads me to a rant about Chip and Reichen from last year...

I'm sorry, but two tall, white, middle class, straight acting, good looking, athletic gays weren't demonstrating anything other than the fact that tall, white, middle class, good looking, athletic guys can get a million dollars.

Well, I am excited that my bad news turned to good - yay CBS.

I spent the past week in the mountains, where the cabin I rented did not have cable but a satellite dish. And not in an area where they have the network stations. So all week I was bumming that I missed the only show I make a point of watching, when this evening I just happened to turn on the TV - and there it was, a repeat of Tuesday's episode. I missed the first 15 minutes, but no complaining here.

Too bad Jim & Marsha lost. It really should have been the pizza boys. I'm not liking Charla & Mirna much now, but the crack one of the brothers made out the car window was uncalled for. I wonder if the girls are irritating everyone during the pitstops so much that someone has to yell 'b****' at them?

I really hope that at some point Phil tells Mirna to keep her hands off the merchandise. It's bugging me, too.

And how funny that the princess twins decided to swim to the island? I loved the edit of the local kids giggling at them.

I totally agree, but for some reason I really want to like Brandon & Nicole. They seem to be racing well.

Well, I did write that after only the first episode. And, I have to tell you, I was really put off by how Brandon treated Nicole in the first episode. I thought it spoke very badly for how Christian men very often think that they should treat women as if they are inconsequencial to any decision making that concerns both of them. That is what I meant by stereotypical atributes.

After the last episode, I feel that they both played better, more cohesively. So maybe they are who they are reported to be after all. Wouldn't that be refreshing?

I didn't mean to imply that they weren't likeable. My constirnation was more geared towards all of us realizing that reality shows aren't in fact reality. They are editted quite a bit. But I believe that the Great Race is not editted with as much of an agenda as many of the shows out there. It's one of the reasons I like to watch it.

Yeah, Mirna had mentioned when they tried to form an alliance with Brandon & nicole that they were God fearing people like they are.
