the ALIEN franchise!

Any fans? I got the Alien 3 2-disc collector's edition for my birthday. I rented this set last winter, and thought the extended "Assembly Cut" was a marked improvement over the theatrical version.

However, I am still not letting Alien: Resurrection anywhere near my DVD collection. That movie was devoid of suspense, with "protagonists" that I found impossible to root for.

I don't remember liking either. I will have to check out the Assembly Cut.

I only have the first two Alien movies. I haven't seen the other two, but I heard it wasn't very good, so I didn't buy them.

I've seen them all but I only liked the first two. Harlan Ellison had a great Idea for getting around Alien 3. Make it a very bad dream that Ripley wakes up from.

The first one was very good. The second one was incredible and by far the best. The third one went rapidly downhill, even though it was still watchable, and well the 4th and 5th ones were two absolutely horrible movies.

After Bill Paxton died the series went down hill.
