  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The AiG schism.

What are your comments about AiG America breaking away from what is now Creation Ministries International? To me I think it's just a clear indicator that the YEC movement really hasn't thought thoroughly about its philosophical and scriptural roots. The absence of a coherent response or position on logical theological implications such as Sabbatarianism demonstrates such. One outcome is that organizations haven't really "shaken down" their ideology and I believe this is what has happened - an ideological drift between members as the ideology slowly crystallizes into something mature.

This is a very interesting outcome of the split: AiG has pulled an article specifically criticising "Dr." Kent Hovind, while CMI hasn't.

I'm trying to get to the bottom of this myself through a friend of a friend who knows Sarfati.

The story I heard was that AIG US/UK was being a little cavalier with the science side and the CMI group objected to this. This is evidenced by them taking down the Hovind criticism and getting perhaps into bed with any crazy person.
