Well, that's just it. One source for Enoch 7 has them at 3000 ells. That's between 3000 and 9000 feet. Another has it as 300 cubits...a more modest 500 feet. There's no record of any animal anywhere close to that. The tallest of all trees can't grow past about 390 feet because the water can't rise any higher by osmotic force.

Your use of God's "Capacity" is not relevant to man's ideas of changing with the winds, rulers, and denominations' their doctrines of "canon".
Much stranger. There are 100 ft high buildings all over the ancient world. A high gibbet can be seen by all, and a reviled victim can thus be displayed in death as a warning to a whole city. That is a single translator's decision, which decision differs from another translator, who said three hundred cubits. there is a third translator who also said three thousand, but you would have to go see who wrote first, and who was following whom...LOL! You are calling men God, who are not God.If God wanted His word to include Enoch there would be no dispute. Your entire outlook lacks faith in His providence if you think men can undo what God ordains his word to be to us today.

Of course God inspired the prophets to write what He wanted. Enoch is a prophet, Jesus' womb brother, Jude, writes that Enoch is the prophet who wrote Enoch. Jude, under inspiration, quotes from "Enoch the prophet, the seventh from Adam".I don't have a clue why you would think this. Believing that scripture is divinely inspired means that I believe God wrote the bible through prophets and peoples and that it says what He intended it to say. To believe the Bible, word of God, is not divinely inspired or errant due to God utilizing humans to write it is heresy.
Proponents of Enoch have no proof that Enoch himself wrote it. If God wanted Enoch included there would be zero dispute on the subject today. The fact that there is vigorous debate, as evidenced by this single thread, is enough to safely conclude that Enoch is not divinely inspired scripture.

The original authorship of such works were attributed to Jewish fables and myths and scriptures mention. At the point it was penned, midrash (an expansion of) was starting to be prominent and people really delved into genealogies, who did what, and all that. Extrapolated and filled in things as they deduced what they thought to be true. As it is scriptures (Jude- the tag which coincidentally was during the Holocaust, German for Jew), the quote is accurate that Enoch indeed did prophesy this very thing. However, midrash is not scripture as stated before. There are other works quoted in scriptures that are not the word of God like Epimedes, for example. Jude saw fit to use the example of some crept in unawares... to illustrate the point, not give credence to its validity. As far as the content of the book, more or less, one can only conjecture that the book of Enoch was to portray knowledge as people saw fit, and what the natural man knew, which as we know is not spiritual. The midrash being of Deuteronomy 33:2, stated by Moses, concerning ten thousands of his saints. A tradition passed to him by his fathers starting at Enoch. Preserved as authored by Enoch in the book of Jude. Also, being as the scriptures show that Enoch and Elijah are taken up, never seeing death, one can only surmise that they are the two end time prophets, and when you attribute a work to an end time prophet, many are led astray and follow things which they knew not. Even refusing the things which they were taught from their youth. Also, if you follow the work closely and break it down like scriptures, it falls apart, which coincidentally is the shape of it today...it is only in fragments. The word of God never passes away. I thought I would make a thread based mainly on the 10 week prophecy mentioned in that book, but also any other verses from the Bible concerning his prophecy.

This is the end of the Apocalypse of the ten weeks.
As you can see, like all the prophecies of God it is coming to pass exactly as it was supposed to. God is still in charge. Here we have yet another word from God that this is the time all the world has been waiting for. .......................

If he was a "con man" he was a very poor one. Funding his own excursions and living as a middle class man of humble means... Not to mention that you haven't heard of him, which, to me, speaks to his humbleness and non-fame seeking attitude.There are lots of allegations of fraud and him being a con-man.

My friend, yes, Enoch, the man of God who walked with God to the extent that God "took him" was indeed real, and did not die, but was "taken" by God.
The question is, did he write the book of enoch?
